This hotel was amazing! From the artwork on the walls to the rooftop deck and the incredible coffee in the morning, everything was thoughtfully done. I felt it was reasonably priced, and the rooms were very comfortable and spacious. Not to mention, the bathrooms were beautiful. All in all, I’d give it a 5 out of 5—or even a 10 out of 10. If you’re in Asheville, this is the place to stay!

The decoration of the hotel is really radical but all the good ways. Very colorful and interesting. Our room was fantastic, modern in every way including heating/air, curtain closing and the bathroom. If I would mention anything maybe at night the room could have had more lights.

The single WORST hotel experience we have ever had. Asheville deserves your support; The Radical, does not. When we checked into our room, everything looked fine. Later, we discovered small chocolate candies scattered across the floor—clearly left by a previous guest and completely missed by housekeeping. They blended into the dark carpet, so we didn’t see them. Unfortunately, our dog did. Chocolate can be very dangerous for dogs, and he became very sick overnight. After hours of vomiting, crying, and distress, we spent the entire next day at an Asheville animal hospital. The vet bill was $600, and the emotional toll was far worse—all because our room hadn’t been well cleaned. What shocked us most was the hotel’s response. For 3 days, we tried to speak with the General Manager, Jon Craven, and the local owner, Amy Kelly. Both avoided us entirely. The GM refused to meet in person or speak by phone, offering only brief emails. He asked for “documentation,” then emailed again saying he had “reviewed the documentation we sent”—even though we hadn’t sent anything yet—and said we weren’t eligible for any support. It was a canned, dismissive message that made it clear he had no intention of taking responsibility. His lack of professionalism, empathy, and accountability was so upsetting that we cut our trip short by a full day. We tried for two weeks to reach the owner, who never responded to a single message. Multiple staff members told us this is common behavior at the Radical.

Staff was very nice, rooms and building design, architecture -amazing. Had a nice relaxing time at rooftop. Recommend hotel charge slight up charge and provide a breakfast.

The hotel is visually sunny and very artsy w a sprawling art filled lobby. There is a cafe which turns into a restaurant at night that looked good but we didn’t go to. Our room was very nice modern and cool. I felt like we were in our own private night club. There were brick walls and graffiti and cool lamps. There was not enough flat surfaces though and no drawer space which would have helped for a 3 night stay but it was fine. I liked that we were off the beaten path a little and not in the heart of downtown. It was quieter but stimulating enough w galleries and cute shops nearby. Parking was always easy. I would probably stay again!

Absolutely Fabulous

We loved everything about our stay. The entire staff from the front desk, to the restaurant servers were friendly and helpful. The artwork and design throughout the hotel was fresh and original. We appreciated real glasses and cups in the room, and enjoyed the Golden Hour so much we ate there twice. Finally, the area is really cool, with all kinds of galleries and artists. Much more interesting than downtown Asheville.
