The Porta is fine. It's a big hotel with a lot of staff. That said, it seems like a lot of people are standing around not doing all that much. For example, when you approach the front desk there are 4 people looking at computers and no one assists the guest(s).
Lots of noisy events going on at the Porta, with really no regard for unrelated guests (big kids parties with amplifiers, corporate events, weddings, etc...). No one cares that these things are really noisy, and no one warns guests that their quiet afternoon is going to be slammed with a kids moved and airplane noise decibels.
The only request I made (to the front desk) during a 10 day stay was for a cab to take me to the airport, and the cab was 15 minutes late, the front desk (who I ordered the cab from) told me to go see the travel agent, etc..etc... Lots of dodging and weaving with no real help at all.
It's just not that great a stay anymore. They just don't seem to care that much about individual guests, and they are focused on putting on their events.
