Beautiful inn, Christmas decorations were beautifully done. Staff was excellent. No onsite parking but a few parking lots are close by. Rooms are very comfortable

One of my favourite bars in Ambleside, atmosphere is always welcoming, staff are excellent. Decided to book a room for the night and was disappointed in the size and layout. Mirror screwed to a side wall at the desk made it unusable, hardly any room around the bed to move. Breakfast was disappointing, poached eggs were hard, bacon over crispy and black pudding soggy. Still one of my favourite bars and will continue to drink there.

Great staff, great brekkie, nice hotel.

Really nice, clean hotel with great, friendly staff and freshly cooked breakfast. Mattress needed replacing in bedroom 17 as it sagged on the nearside to the door. Pillows were excellent.

Had a good overall one night stay. Warm welcome and comfy beds after a hard day's walking. Room clean but window screwed shut so was a bit warm/stuffy. There was a fan provided in the room that helped. Good breakfast with decent choice. Evening meal was possible to have in your room (supplied in takeaway boxes collected from the bar) but pizza was burned and ribs were a bit fatty so would probably eat elsewhere with hindsight as plenty of alternatives within easy reach. No carpark was a downside and being peak season, it was a bit of a struggle to find spaces in several public carparks and was nearly £20 extra for overnight. One of the nearest carparks had a Wednesday market that sets up at 6am which nearly caught us out. Mid August so busy town, but nice and quiet in room despite central location. Overall, as long as you are aware of the potential downsides above, I would still recommend it as decent value for money.

Nice stay in the lakes with the dog. Great staff at the hotel, good breakfast and extensive drinks selection. Room was very small and pokey but otherwise ok and fairly comfortable. We were on the top floor and there is no lift, so would not be suitable for those with restricted mobility.
