Ambleside is stocked with a good selection of bars, restaurants and independent retailers, as well as plenty of seasonal attractions to suit all ages and is easily reached via a short walk down the hill. Set adjacent to Blue Hill Wood, High Fellside offers keen nature lovers the chance to see owls, bats, deer and hear the odd woodpecker.

Thoroughly good holiday probably helped by beautiful weather . Fantastic view over fells and mountains from living room and downstairs bedroom.Easy walk into Ambleside but tougher coming back as all uphill .Ambleside itself well worth a visit.

A lovely few days in High Fellside.

A lovely few days in High Fellside. Had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Position on the hillside lends itself to absolutely fabulous views. We were lucky enough to be blessed with good weather so we're able to make full use of the patio garden which also shares the views. It is also very peaceful as there is no passing traffic, except the roe deer that wandered by one evening!

Great cottage for my family break.

Great cottage for my family break. Having 2 bathrooms a bonus when hosting adult child and her husband. Views stunning from dining room window.Kitchen fully equiped, although plenty of eating options in walking distance.A second set of keys would have been helpful for those days when we went on separate walks.Dining room chairs a little uncomfortable but a minor issue overall.

This cottage is high up in Ambleside which might put you off, but the walk up Blue Hill Road is easy

This cottage is high up in Ambleside which might put you off, but the walk up Blue Hill Road is easy and you really get spectacular views(snow on Old Man of Coniston was visible on a good day).It is also super quiet at night.The cottage is well equipped and comfortable.The only minor niggles were one squeaky bed and the tumble dryer didn’t work, also the upstairs bedrooms were a bit colder as they face directly onto hill side.Great base for short or long walks.
