Accommodation In Jinan
Jinan is home to a strong local culture, a rich heritage and, most famously, the 700 natural springs that run through the city. These have given rise to the nickname "the City of Springs". Come visit the capital of the Shandong Province on your next vacation, and enjoy all of the beauty for yourself. All you need to do is book a Jinan hotel.
The natural artesian springs are what made Jinan famous across China. Many of them begin downtown and flow peacefully out to Daming Lake, which is a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the water. Pack a picnic and explore the waterways, beautiful parks and the serenity created by creeks lined with weeping willows. The largest source of water for the lake is Baotu Spring, where the water flows so fast it looks like a rolling boil.
Take a trip to Thousand Buddha Mountain, which has an impressive amount of ancient Buddha images carved into the rock face, and any freestanding structures a sculptor could get their hands on. The oldest dates back to the Sui Dynasty, which was from 581-618. Don't miss the Four Gates Pagoda, which is the oldest one-storey stone tower in China. Inside you'll discover four Buddhist statues from the 6th century, and be sure to grab a photo with the Cypress tree just outside - it's over 1000 years old.
Check out Lingyan Temple, one of the four most famous temples built during the Tang Dynasty. Here you can see a giant collection of coloured states from the Song Dynasty, which are immaculately preserved. Visit the Shandong Provincial Museum to browse through a massive collection of natural and historical treasures from the region. You'll find ancient fossils, coins, sculptures and artefacts from the Ming Dynasty. The Jinan region is home to the spectacular black pottery that's today considered a work of art and one of the best souvenirs you can buy in Jinan. Spend an afternoon to see the Ancient Great Wall of the Qi State, and be sure to take your photo in front of one of the man-made wonders of the world.
Jinan is the heart of Shandong cuisine, which makes use of shallots and garlic to create delicious and easy meals. While you're here, try the braised abalone or sweet and sour carp for a delicious meal. The best retail shopping is in the malls and markets surrounding Spring City Square, or simply grab a coffee and sit back while you check out the locals.
Come and visit Jinan and discover the history and culture of one of the oldest regions in China. Spend your holiday in peaceful natural surrounds, exploring beautiful temples or learning about the rich heritage of China and you'll really enjoy your stay!
