For Expedia people, the property has been renovated but Expedia won't let them update their pictures. The room was well appointed and the bed was heavenly. It's a very easy walk to the lighthouse and there are places to eat, as well as the hotel's restaurant (and they will also deliver to your room if you like!). It exceeded my expectations.

Sunnymead Hotel

Lovely hotel with clean and spacious rooms and a comfortable bed. Clean throughout Unfortunately description of front desk being open all day was inaccurate and the hotel cancelled our booking even though we arrived at 6.30 We were sent an email so we’re aware and rebooked to include a breakfast. We sent a message but didn’t get a reply so we were quite stressed. We called the emergency number at luckily the staff had left a key under the doormat. The breakfast turned out to be a small loaf and bottle of orange juice not worth the £20 paid.

Loved the outdoor pool and that’s about it! Upon arrival, we were told we couldn’t check in because our room wasn’t ready. It was past check in time and the receptionist told us we asked for a late check in at 5pm. She was rude, unapologetic and couldn’t provide any proof despite me showing her a message requesting early check in if possible. To top it off, after entering our room, we found beard hairs on the bed. Luckily we were moved into another room. A candle or diffuser would be a good addition perhaps. The rooms have a motel like smell.

Very well renovated and appointed rooms. Restaurant is very good quality food and service with a few tables. Make sure you book. The hotel has a real palm springs vibe.
