"Great hotel in a great location"
Great hotel right next to the beautiful suburb of South Melbourne. Tram line right out the front which got you into the CBD in minutes. Hotel staff were also friendly and extremely helpful with their local advice. Thanks, the kids and I loved it and we'll definitely stay again.

"Magnificent "
We stayed 4 nights in a deluxe twin share and it was magnificent. From the Doormen, to the Receptionists, to Guest Services and the Maids, everybody was smiling, polite and accommodating (Good old fashion service). The room had two beds which were oversized queens that my daughter loved. The bathroom was fantastic which the girls really loved and the WIR was a perfect size so I could get changed in due to the girls hogging the bathroom. We were on the 10th floor and the view of the city was still stunning, even better at night with all the city lights on. There was plenty to do inside and outside of the crown complex but my daughter basically lived in the pool/gym complex. Even in winter the indoor pool was nice and warm. The city and Southbank were only a hop, skip and a jump away as well. Thank you for a lovely and enjoyable stay.

"Slow elevators"
The hotel was great other then the lifts. They where so slow in if you didn't push your way through the people coming out, the doors would close and you would be waiting for another 10 minutes for one!

"Great hotel in central position"
A small boutique hotel centrally located with quick access to CBD, St Kilda, South Yarra and Chapel Street. Very quiet in the rooms that are beautifully decorated. Highly recommend this hotel.

    Pocket Guide: South Melbourne

Boutique shops, cool cafes and Formula One racing are just a few of the things you’ll find in South Melbourne. Just two kilometres from the CBD, South Melbourne lies beyond the city views and riverside promenade of Southbank and includes Albert Park and its magnificent lake. Heritage-listed buildings have become trendy places to eat and shop and the suburb is just a short tram ride from the city (because why wouldn’t you catch a tram in Melbourne?). Stay close to the action in Melbourne with one of our South Melbourne hotels.

South Melbourne is one of the city’s oldest suburbs, and shows its heritage in terraced housing and Victorian architecture. Take a walk down Clarendon Street, which has a kilometre of fashionable clothing shops, retro gear, restaurants and bars. Make sure you swing by the South Melbourne Market. Melbourne’s longest-running market, it opened in 1867 and has almost 150 stalls. That’s plenty of fresh ingredients for you to stock up on. When it’s time for dinner you can choose from Japanese food to cosy, sophisticated gastro pubs and affordable gourmet pizza. Of course, Melbourne is a fantastic city for dining, but with our South Melbourne hotels you may never need to leave the suburb.

If you’re a high-octane sports fan, head to Albert Park in March for the Australian Grand Prix, Australia’s longest-running car race. Over four days, some of the fastest drivers in the world tear along the lakeside tracks as crowds look on and cheer. Not a racing fan? Albert Park is still worth a visit, no matter what time of year it is. You can sail on the lake, go for a run or bike ride around it, or simply go for a stroll by the water’s edge. Albert Park is also a great place for a picnic, with its relaxing green fields and the views of the CBD on the horizon. Gasworks Arts Park, located in Albert Park, is a must for culture-lovers with two theatres featuring creative local performances, as well as three art galleries, a cafe and workshop spaces.

Another great thing about South Melbourne: you’re close to all the CBD’s attractions in one direction, and in the other direction its only five kilometres to St. Kilda, famous for its promenade, beach and the smiling face of Luna Park. Wot more could you want? Book your South Melbourne accommodation with us and see all the best parts of Melbourne. And don’t forget your flight to Melbourne!
