"Weekend Away"
Took the wife up to Rocky Hills for a weekend away. Amazing location, secluded and private. The house itself is phenomenal, with all glass walls along 3 sides, open layout and perfect facilities. The old chapel turned art studio will be right up your alley if you want to spend some time producing artwork or chilling out on the lounge. Otherwise you can spend some time in the main house, reading from the large library, handing out on wonderful couches, or in the huon pine bath on the deck. A great and relaxing experience.

"Beautiful and cosy! "
Beautiful and cosy! It was an lovely experience as it was just the right size and perfect for a breakkie in the morning! The Picture in ad did promise an overhang to the water and not a cabin located behind the one that overhung. Also the distance to local attraction Wineglass bay and other attractions in that area was completely wrong as it was around 50 k (1 Hour) and not 8.5 to 9 K (15 min), But misleading info and picture was smooth over a bit by the big personality of the staff! ( keep smiling, it make the guest feel welcome!

"romantic log fires beside the beach "
Had a wonderful few days at Piedmont Retreat set in glorious countryside with my husband and friends. The room was delightful, a log fire had been prepared for us so all we had to do was light the match, and all the kitchen was stacked with all the amenities we needed. The sound of the waves outside our front door was most relaxing, as was the lounger on our patio - and the cottage was cleverly positioned so you were unaware of any other surrounding cottages. Dinner in the restaurant was superb and excellent value - I highly recommend the lamb! The grounds are delightful, the pool and tennis court in a beautiful setting beside a lake and a small vineyard, and the entrance to the sea. We'd be back in a heartbeat.

    Pocket Guide: Freycinet

Relax while surrounded by nature with a trip to Freycinet, a destination that feels a million miles away from civilisation. Located just off the east coast of Tasmania, Freycinet has plenty of stunning attractions for you to explore, from Freycinet National Park to the Hazards, a formation of pink granite mountains. And that’s before we get started on the beaches and wine! Discover these and more by booking from our range of Freycinet and East Coast Tasmania hotels.

Freycinet is most famous for the Freycinet National Park, a sprawling wonder stretching across miles of rugged mountains, pristine coasts and dense forest. While you’re here, there’s no going past Wineglass Bay, a secluded beach with brilliant white sand and deep blue water that curves along the Freycinet Peninsula. Whether you’re there on the shores or taking the view in from above, it’s an awesome sight to see. Be tickled pink at the sight of the Hazards, a striking pink mountain range that dominate the peninsula’s landscape. Bring your walking shoes and trudge the trail up Mt Amos, one of the many mountains on the range; it’s a tough climb, but the panoramic views at the top are well worth it!

Wherever you go, you’re sure to see and do a lot. Sail, cruise, swim, drive, walk and fish your way through the region while keeping an eye out for local Aussie wildlife such as possums, wombats and echidnas. If you’re at Wineglass Bay during August to October, you may even be lucky enough to spot dolphins and humpback whales! Bring a picnic and enjoy it under the shade of trees or along the shore after a dip in the ocean. Visiting during summer? Check out a movie or slide show at the outdoor theatre just behind the Visitor Centre at the entrance to the park.

Foodies will fall in love with Freycinet too, with fresh seafood, fish and chips, pizza and other gourmet goodies available from the many restaurants and eateries around town. Fancy a bit of tipple to go with it? Freycinet is also famous for its wine, so make sure you swing by Freycinet Vineyard to try a few sips and walk away with a few bottles.

At only two and a half hours from Hobart and Launceston, this is one place you can’t say no to! Experience one of Australia’s best attractions and book your Freycinet and East Coast Tasmania accommodation today.
