How much do I love you kids’ clubs? Let me count the ways

By Josh Alston

For years our paths have intertwined, born of fate and continued by passion. It was a union first of convenience, then of friendship, but now, it is love.

I remember the day we first met: We arrived in beautiful Airlie Beach, hot, tired and with two screaming kids in tow.

You greeted us at the BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort, resplendent with your lagoon-style pool, sprawling botanic gardens and awesome mega water slides.

But then you offered the winning shot – a dedicated activities co-ordinator who led our children through discos, mini golf, painting, movies, sand art and much more.

We sipped cocktails and watched the sun crawl up into the crystal blue northern Queensland sky. It was bliss.

So we decided to take our relationship to the next level. It was time to venture interstate and see what you had to offer across Australia.

We had seen the sun and surf, now it was time to witness the snow at the Falls Creek Hotel in the Hume mountains of Victoria.

With a ski lift just 100m from the door, the day time was jam packed with fun. We got to snowboard and ski while the children took advantage of the cool 4 Kids club. At night, you offered a supervised children’s only seating arrangement, so we could enjoy a quiet dinner alone.

Afterwards, from 7-9pm, the kids enjoyed fun and games while we sat by the fire and sipped on fine scotch. It was bliss.

Things were really rolling along nicely, so it was time to take a bit of a risk. We hopped on a plane with our two kids along for the ride, and headed to balmy Fiji.

There were so many options here, but we couldn’t be without you, our darling Kids Club.

So we chose the Mana Island Resort and Spa, where we could leave the little ones at the TuVonu Kids’ Club for three different sessions every day.

Here, they could enjoy traditional Fijian activities like nature walks, games and cultural immersion. They even got souvenir gifts to remind them of their island adventure.

All the while we swam, sang, snorkeled and sipped on cocktails.

There are hundreds of Kids’ Clubs scattered across Australia and abroad, so our relationship will only continue to blossom. We used to dread road trips with the children, now we can’t wait to plan our next one. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we love you and can’t wait to see more holiday fun with you in the future.
