4. Hilton Melbourne Little Queens Street, VIC
Built on the site of the Equity Chambers, the design of this new Hilton has retained the heritage of Italian Romanesque and Gothic detailing of the 1930s. Smack bang in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, you’re just a hop, skip and a jump to the city’s coolest laneways and hip eateries.
5. SKYE Suites Green Square, NSW
The newest SKYE suites at Green Square has changed the city skyline of Sydney with its cool, contemporary architecture. Locals have nicknamed it ‘The Armchair’ and one glance at the exterior and we can see why! The studios are spacious and come complete with all the mod cons but our highlight has to be the pool in the shape of an exclamation point.
6. Crowne Plaza Adelaide, SA
Now the tallest hotel in Adelaide, you can expect some stunning city views through the floor to ceiling windows of this new stay. The level 10 lobby offers a 24-hour workspace that’s great for business travellers and for those who are in town for leisure, the heated outdoor infinity pool or dinner at Koomo are great options.
7. Flynn a Crystalbrook Collection Hotel, QLD
Glass swimming pools, meditation spaces and a focus on wellness are all part of this new Cairns hotel. Right on the iconic Cairns Esplanade boardwalk, an Eléme Day Spa and two new restaurants are soon to be added in 2021 but in the meantime, enjoy a mean martini or neat gin from the sleek on-site bars: Boardwork Social has an impressive 40 types available (and 36 beer taps!).
8. JW Marriott, QLD
Okay, so technically this isn’t a new hotel but it has undergone a $35 million renovation and full rebrand. Formerly the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa, the new and improved stay opens on December 20 as a luxury resort with six food and beverage venues and is mere steps from the sands of Surfers Paradise. This is true five-star luxury and the peaceful lagoon and outdoor pool alone is worth the visit.
