I never received an email confirming my booking, despite entering my email address when I booked. Neither did the app record my booking in ‘Trips’ as it normally does. I had to call the hotel to confirm they had my booking.

You advised I would receive an 8% discount using a discount code however upon checkout there is no where to enter the discount code. I was advised the accommodation would cost $735 and would be charged when I arrive. I have been charged already an amount of $746.03 – was not aware of any extra fees I may incur.

Normally I don’t have an issue with wotif and find their prices great. And I will preempt this with it did say the hotel would take a deposit…. however if you are going to advertise “book now – pay later” then perhaps it should be more transparent…. the hotel pretty much charged me 3/4 of the price as a deposit – and the wording, which I checked several times before booking said “amount owing after the deposit: $250.00” which in fact was the deposit they took…. so don’t be fooled like I was with the “book now pay later”. The last time I took a deal like this I didn’t have to pay until we arrived… this time I may as well have just payed….. or actually not take the booking because I didn’t particularly have the money to pay now which is why I went for the deal. Perhaps the hotels should be made to put exactly how much the deposit is in the screen that says “Pay now $XXX or book now pay later- deposit is $XXX”.
