The room itself was as expected and value for money: small but containing tea and coffee making facilities, TV, comfortable bed and spare blanket. However there was no hot water in the hand basin – it wasn’t working and there was no hot water in the shower either – not good after a long drive and before catching a plane early the next day.

The Wotif website showed 4 rooms still available at the hotel so I booked one of them online, payment was processed and the booking confirmed. Unfortunately I received a call from the hotel within the hour to say that they actually didn’t have any rooms available and that Expedia would be in contact to refund me the money. Unbelievably, I received a phone call from Expedia at 4am on the day I would have been checking out of the hotel anyway, asking if I would like assistance with booking another hotel for that night. Not only was I woken at a ridiculous hour (the person on the phone was totally oblivious to the fact it was 4am) but her offer of assistance came the day AFTER my requested booking date. Couldn’t get back to sleep after that either!

I don’t believe that so many people are looking at their same hotel

I just want to sort but price, location from my conference and bed size. Even if that functionality exists your UI didn’t let me intuitively find it.

Also stop sending me so many emails, it makes you seem very needy

We were charged the first nights stay and there was nothing before purchasing that told us this. The website said “pay at the hotel” and the final payment screen said “paying today $0”
Why the hell wouldn’t it just be disclosed here that we will be charged the first night fee.
