Through my booking I was able to select the “Pay Later” option, being told that the money would be taken by the hotel upon checking in, however the hotel immediately attempted to take the money from my account as Wotif had requested my credit card with a $0 charge to secure the booking.
After many discussions with the hotel, they stated that they did not do this and would cancel my booking if I could not pay at least one nights accommodation up front, which I did not have available to spare at the time but they took anyway without my go ahead. I was booking this for work purposes and was being reimbursed by my workplace after attending the function.
Will definitely not book with another hotel that says it offers the “Pay Later” option again, as they insist on taking the money immediately.

I have no booking confirmation email. I have checked junk and bin folders. I shouldn’t have to chase them for this.

Motel didnt have payment info so had to pay again
Not sure who is at fault just know I shouldn’t have to worry about getting my money back🙁

I have been trying to notify Wotif about the deposit they took for my booking but they do not have an e-mail contact and their phone number in Australia has you on hold for more than an hour so their service is not flash.The booking I made said a 1 night deposit was required but Wotif have deducted 3 nights deposit from my card!
I have given up trying to notify Wotif and will contact the hotel directly
