March 19, 2018I have used Wotif many times and really like the service you provide – thank you. However, yesterday I was really disappointed to find out that my message to Darwin Central was not passed on. I used the Wotif facility to message the hotel direct to tell them my partner would be arriving before me. He had to fly from a remote community, across a flooded river, then drive 300 km to Darwin and was arriving before me. I flew in at 9.30 pm. I sent a message to the hotel via Wotif letting them know he would be arriving, his full name, and that I was not flying in until later. I also sent him a copy of my reservation.
He arrived tired and in need of shower around 6 pm – he also helped people with post-cyclone clean up on his way – and went to check in and was told he was not able to – because it was booked in my name. The woman he initially dealt with was helpful but a gentleman also working on the desk interrupted and said it was not possible. Your default setting was for 1 guest (which I hadn’t realised) and they alleged there was no message from Wotif. When I arrived with him at 10.15 pm – the same staff member claimed to me (while my partner was parking) that all he would need to do is show his booking. When my partner returned he then explained he had shown them the booking confirmation I forwarded to him on his phone to the female staff member and she had begun to organise check in – but the male staff member had interrupted and told her to disregard it. In my conversation at 10.15 pm the staff member kept claiming that he did not have enough information and it was booked in my name. I explained there was no facility for booking it in anything but my name. We have both stayed at Darwin Central numerous times together and on separate visits (as you can see from my booking history) – and this was deeply disappointing. I was not there to verify that the staff did try to find messages, they blankly stated it had not been received.
So – was the problem with Wotif or the hotel?
My partner is African, hoping their disinterest in checking that he did, in fact, have a copy of the booking forwarded by me … may have something to do with that.
Oh, and the room 319 smelled strongly of mildew. Have never had this experience before here, maybe it was post-cyclone – but we were too tired. Glad we booked a different hotel tonight (via Wotif).

March 18, 2018I did not receive a confirmation email of the booking so it was my understanding the booking did not go thru so I booked another hotel Then later in rhe day, the original hotel contacts me to advise my room was ready. I had booked three nights. After pursuing a reimbursemet only one night was reimbursed and I incurred charges. Not impressed.
March 18, 2018This hotel was by all means nothing but a disappointment. On arrival in our “deluxe twin room” We walked into a room that was completely different to the room discription and advertised photos. Not sure why this room was considered comfortable for 4 adults as the room consisted of 2 single beds and a sofa bed? The room had 2 lamps and no ceiling lights and the lady on the front desk had no authority to help the situation at all. After speaking with staff and Wotif support we were told there was no manager available to speak with and our only options were to wait for a manager to arrive at 10.30pm or pay another $160 to upgrade our own room. Why staff are running a hotel with no authority to help guests is beyond me? anyways After surviving the night with no sleep and the entire building shaking from the nightclub downstairs we arrived in reception ready to enjoy our continental free breakfast we were told the cafe is closed today and we were then handed a small box of “breakfast” consisting of cereal,long life milk, fruit cup and a juice box. (Was enough to feed a small child not an adult) parking was underneath the hotel and was public therefore leaving us to pay for a night of parking. Although this hotel is in a great central location it was most defiantly not worth investing your time, money or energy in. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
March 18, 2018Nice room, staff over the phone not very helpful as we couldn’t get into our room until late. Also didn’t inform me about anything.
March 18, 2018The room was not what was mentioned. It was disgraceful, no kitchenete!. The ammenities block was filthy and unhygienic. And there was no hot water.
The management was rude and way out of line. We left the next day I requested a refund. Had police involved aswell
The light grey font colour on the confirmation sheet is absolutely hopeless when it is printed out.
I won’t be using Wotif again when there are so many other more user friendly websites!!!!

Nobody answered the phone,when I needed to talk to a person
March 18, 2018I changed dates after I paid and the internet said it was done. Once I found out you couldn’t leave on that date as your internet site said.
