We booked the Seabreeze Cottage at Bruny Island for a birthday celebration. We received confirmation for our booking and our credit card was also charged for the booking. However, when we turned up at the accommodation, someone else already checked in the cottage. We called up Wotif and they told us our booking was cancelled by the property owner, but we received no notification about the cancellation. We called up the property owner and she told us their property was never listed with Wotif and she was not aware about our booking (which turned out to be a lie as she miraculously found our booking ‘buried’ in her mailbox the next day when we told her that we were intending to make police report for fraudulent online transaction). It was a busy weekend and we couldn’t book in to any other accommodation. So, we were left stranded at the island with NO accommodation. A birthday celebration turned into a nightmare. We are not sure who is lying here, but we are definitely not impressed with the service provided by both Wotif and Seabreeze Cottage at Bruny Island.
