Very unfair. At 3 in the afternoon, I phoned to cancel the booking to be told I could not have any refund even if the room was booked out by another guest.

did not receive a confirmation email after our booking. Had to phone the motel myself to confirm booking.
Have been using wotif for years but will no longer do this as I am dissapointed in their service

I have just spoken with the Hotel who advised the Wotif site (through Expedia) caused the issue… Could someone please explain why a FREE AIRPORT SHUTTLE should cost an additional $29?

This ‘hotel’ is a scam, i booked and paid but turned up and to discover that there was no ‘hotel’. The room paid for may have been owned by people running an air b and b, but the contact number provided had been disconnected. I can not contact the ‘hotel’ to demand a refund, and will contact my bank to try to get them to get my money back as i did not get a room. Fortunately the real hotel Pepper next door to the scam property were wonderful and gave me a discounted room for the night.
This wot if experience was very disappointing – i doubt i will book through wot if again, even though i have done so in the past hundreds of times.

Had to cancel and rebook my booking as I needed to stay one less night. Ended up paying $60 more for one less night as I didn’t get my sale rates.

Wouldn’t have cancelled if I knew I would have to pay more.

What a terrible experience, booked a weekend away with my wife for her birthday only to be emailed next morning by the venue to be told that could not hold our booking and that I had to go in and cancel the booking myself……

House of Laurels sent you a new message:

Thank you for your booking unfortunately there has been a glitch in the booking systems and the cottage you have booked is not available. You will need to cancel your reservation as we do not have availability for your dates. Our deepest apologies for any inconvenience caused.
