Takanoya is a wonderful traditional ryukan style onsen. I highly recommend it. The rooms are clean and well kept, the onsen is hot and private, and the proprietor is thoughtful and generous.

スキー旅行での宿泊です。フロント男性の対応も良く、全体的に快適に過ごせました。 建物は古さも目立ちますが、トイレやエアコンなど設備は新しく、布団もフカフカで寝心地良かったです。ただお部屋のテレビが地上波なしでネット配信のみしか見られなかったので同行者は残念がっていました。YouTubeなどは自由に見られます。 お風呂は成分表が見つからなかったのですが温泉のようです。癖のないさっぱりとしたお湯でした。ドライヤーやアメニティも置いてありました。 近くに行ってみたい飲食店があったので夕飯は外で食べ、朝ごはんのみでしたが、さすが新潟、南魚沼産コシヒカリがとても美味しかった！おかずも色々あったのでおかわりしてしまいました。

This was my first time staying at Takanoya (without meals). It was incredibly comfortable. The staff was very kind, and the hot spring was enjoyable. They even had an English display. The room had a distinctly Japanese feel! Plus, I could watch YouTube on the TV. Foreign visitors will surely enjoy it!
