It had it all. Great facilities. Very geared for families. Well kept. Ocean view family room a bit tired. Loved the food offerings. On the whole very friendly staff. A very easy holiday. We’d definitely go back again.

Traveled to Fiji for a wedding. Upon arriving at Shangri-La we were sent to a room without curtains before a phone call while unpacking to move to another room. Second room had curtains but was in poorer condition. Resort is tired and run down in parts and the fact you are so far from any civilisation makes you feel like yanuca island is like Alcatraz or Saint Helena island like prison. The isolation suits the resort well as they can pedal their substandard food at ridiculous prices. Picked up food poisoning on second day which ended any chance of seeing any more of Fiji than the inside of a run down tired room. If you don’t mind getting sick or being disappointed in food options or food in general and rate a holiday on how many times someone yells Bula at you, I guess this over priced and underwhelming hotel option maybe what you are looking for...

Beautiful hotel and have great experiences every time we stay however we had to wait 3 hours for our room to be ready at check in. Fantastic facilities and views.

Amazing resort, friendly and welcoming staff, heaps of activities to be involved in or can just do nothing and lie by the pool. The food was delicious with so many options. My fourth time I have stayed and will be back

We had to wait 3 hours to get our room, even though we told them what time we were arriving and the hotel wan't full. WE had to move from the room after only about 2 hours as the toilet was leaking and couldn't be fixed by the plumber. The new room had air conditioning that rarely went below 25C, especially in the hot western afternoon sun. We had a turn down service for 2 days and not for the next 3. The adults only pool was closed for renos, as was one of the restaurants. We wern't told this when we booked. This left only 3 restaurants on the island. one italian which was excellent, however we didn't want that type of food for 5 nights. The buffet Lagoon restaurant was full of screaming kids so we left. The beach bar just acceptable for basic food with chips. The Bilo bar was pleasant with cocktails, still expensive even in the happy hour - why no snacks to go with them? Overall it was very expensive to eat anywhere, and this was an island. There is a 28% tax on everything , food, room etc after you add all the tourist taxes etc up, then they charge another 3% to pay your bill by credit card and also charge you a $10 community tax ( Which was just added to the bill ) The staff could do with some proper training in hospitality, its all very well saying Bula every 5 minutes, but those smile need to be backed up with some service, which was pretty woeful.

Snorkelling off beach is was ok. Not a lot of marine life compared to 15 yrs ago. Fairly expensive to eat and drink.
