Location. Helpful cleaner. Interesting Building history, which I had to ask for. Staff communication was difficult and hospitality training is obviously needed. There was no hotel information in the room, re using library, bar or restaurant! Attention management! Not happy about the £50 charged when I had paid in full on booking. Refund to come! Room was comfortable, old fashioned. Receptionist did not call for my taxi and I missed my departure train. Two hours wait for the next. Tried to book one the previous evening, but assured no problem. Not happy overall would not stay again.

My review is affected by my experience of poor staff training and lack of any compendium/information about using the hotel library, bar, restaurant etc. Finally spending two hours at the local railway station, having missed my train because a receptionist did not call for my taxi although I had tried to book it the previous evening. Assured it would not be a problem in the morning. Hospitality training and management focus on clients needed here. I would NOT stay here again despite its good location.
