The hotel room was comfortable and the staff in the hotel were polite. The breakfast buffet was great with a range of food and drinks. I booked the hotel because in the photos, the pool looked really nice and that was the reason I chose the hotel. We went to the pool once. It didn’t feel ‘heated’ as advertised and it was cloudy (perhaps with chemicals). The pool area is also quite tired and in need of some updating. The next time I wanted to use the pool, it was unavailable, despite being advertised as open that particular day and time. I am disappointed.

To be honest, it was the worst Hilton we have ever stayed at. We were greeted by a lovely gentleman on our late check-in Our room was extremely cold, two portable heaters were in the room. Which helped. The sink in the bathroom kept blocking up and my husband kept trying to unblock it. The tv in the room would not turn off, so husband pulled the unit out to switch it off at the wall. The room where we had breakfast was the best room, clean and the breakfast was lovely too. We went to the Spa after breakfast, we had to wait a while before we seen anyone. There was some dance competition on so we put it down to that staff were busy. Which is understandable. The problem we felt was the lack of cleanliness of the spa swimming pool area. It certainly needs a very good clean! Hairs in the shower, looks like the floors have not been cleaned for sometime. From the changing room to the pool area was shocking. When I was leaving a cleaner did come in and do the toilets. Unfortunately we would not return to this hotel if we were in the area ever again. Which is a shame as we have always loved staying at Hilton hotels But not this one 😢

Overall a nice stay in the hotel. The staff were friendly and the room clean and spacious. The temperature in the bar area was on the cold side and the staff could have cleared the used plates at breakfast away quicker. We had to eat breakfast surrounded by dirty crockery. Otherwise breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

It started well, friendly at check in which was the operations manager, then had a swim in the pool which was very cold and the changing rooms were dirty. We booked a family room which was a good size and with a lovely view of the grounds so our first night of the 2 night stay was good. The morning of the 2nd day we had no hot water so we had cold showers and alerted the reception on our way out for the day. When we returned from a full day out at 7pm there was a note to say we had to change rooms, no thought to call us and warn us of this, when I asked reception how far the new room would be as we had a lot of things to move as a family with a 3 year old staying for New Year…..to be told we were being moved to 2 rooms with connecting doors, which was not acceptable and our 3 year old was distressed. We were then told they would give us a bedroom with a sofa bed instead of our family room with 2 proper beds which we had to accept as they refused to let us stay in our room even though we would have taken this with no hot water over the hassle of switching rooms. The room was inferior to what we had booked and paid for, smaller, dated bathroom and the sofa bed instead of a 2nd bedroom. No offer of help to move our luggage etc which I find so rude, and no offer of any compensation, not even a complimentary drink or something for the inconvenience. The attitude on reception during this was memorable and not in a good way!! Keep your expectation low if you stay here.

We are extremely disappointed with our recent stay at your hotel. While the room itself was satisfactory, we specifically chose your hotel because of the swimming pool, as it was an important activity for our children.Upon arrival at approximately 5:00 p.m., your staff informed us that the swimming pool was closed and assured us it would reopen at 8:00 a.m. the following morning. Based on this confirmation, we adjusted our plans, waking up at 6:30 a.m. and having a light breakfast in preparation for swimming.However, when we went to the front desk at 8:00 a.m., we were informed that the pool required an additional 45 minutes for inspection. Shortly afterward, we were told that the swimming pool would not open at all due to safety concerns. This poor communication and lack of planning caused significant inconvenience and completely disrupted our stay.We were exhausted from waking up early, and since we had planned to visit LEGOLAND, we no longer had sufficient time to swim. To make matters worse, your staff suggested that we drive an additional 10 minutes to use another swimming pool. This is not an acceptable alternative and does not compensate for the inconvenience caused. Furthermore, we received an email from your hotel stating that the swimming pool operates Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. This information was clearly misleading and does not reflect the actual availability of the facility.

We received misleading information from the hotel prior to our stay stating that the pool would close at 20:00 on weekends. However, upon our arrival at around 17:00, we were informed that the pool actually closed at 17:30, with last entry at 16:00, making it impossible for us to use it as planned. Because our children were very much looking forward to using the pool, we rearranged our itinerary and woke up early the next morning specifically for this purpose. Unfortunately, the pool was then closed again due to a water quality issue. As a result, our children were extremely disappointed. Given these circumstances, we feel frustrated and it was unreasonable to pay a premium rate for a hotel stay that did not provide access to one of its advertised amenities.
