TERRIBLE STAY / Queen size bed = SMALL double

Booked a queen sized bed & a single bed, it was a small double bed& a folded out sofa bed. There was no room for my 13 year old to manoeuvre round the room on his crutches as his foot is broken. The queen size beds are actually small doubles, spoke to the rudest receptionist I've ever come across who basically told me "I cant build you a hotel" as i requested the size bed I had booked due to my partner being 6ft3 and not fitting in the bed. He was rude, dismissive & spoke over the top of me multiple times & then refused to give his name when I told him I was lodging a formal complaint. The hotel reception is beautiful, the rooms are not. They are worse then most budget hotel I've stayed in. Stains on the carpet, soap dispenser in the shower full of mould, dirty plastic cup in the bathroom, hair on the shower wall, dirty tissues under the bed. There was a kettle full of dirt floating in some water that had been left in it, there was 1 tea bag, 4 sugars, 2 biscuits and no cups to actually make the 1 teabag The beds - the small double was like lying on the floor it was so hard & the bed was not big enough for 2 normal sized adults let alone 1 who is 6ft3. The pull out sofa bed had a mattress so thin my child could feel all the metal bars through it and barley slept. There was 1 nice lady on reception who despite promising me a manger would contact me re: all of the above issues, still has not happened. I have sent 2 emails and I have just been ignored. STAY ELSEWHERE

Our room smelled like sewage and the air hardly worked. The shower leaked and there was a mysterious stain on the couch and a massive wet area on the carpet. The only thing good about it was the breakfast.

Our stay here was beyond disappointing! Upon arrival, our room wasn’t ready (at check in time). We went to a local shop while we waited and returned around a half hour later to find the room still not ready. When it finally was, the room was obviously rushed through quickly as it was not very clean at all. The staff were somewhat apologetic and offered us a piece of chocolate. The next morning, the breakfast was no where to be seen along with any staff members. When we called the assistance number, they questioned us as to why there weren’t any staff present? If you need any help with anything, the staff aren’t there until 3pm The same thing happened on the second morning of our stay with breakfast. Truly disappointing. We had reached out for compensation as we had paid extra for breakfast and had to pay for additional breakfast elsewhere but didn’t get a response. Expedia also reached out unsuccessfully. Avoid at all costs!

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, breakfast ok

Staff are lovely and helpful as can be. They only had one person on the reception most of the time, which meant there was often a queue, but the staff member did their best to work as fast as possible (felt really bad for them!). They aren’t there all day though so it was a bit awkward when you had a query or issue as there wasn’t anyone really there to help which I found very odd for a Radisson Blu hotel! (No one was there when we checked out at 10am). Especially as the hotel seemed fully booked with large groups (coaches full) of travellers Breakfast was ok. Due to the coach full of guests though we found 2/3 days there wasn’t much left food wise. The lovely lady working at breakfast was trying to do her best to clean and look after everything but it was WAY too much work for one person so you had to make do with what was left. There isn’t also much choice I felt compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at. There is parking at a multi storey car park which can be accessed by the hotel lift. You pay for the amount of days upfront at the hotel and they validate your ticket. Definitely think Radisson Blu need to have more staff at this hotel, especially when it’s holiday season and the hotel is at full capacity!

Compact hotel with limited facilities

This is a compact hotel at a fair distance from Zurich. Pros: Decent quality of breakfast Friendly staff Clean property Close to station Cons: At a distance from Zurich necessitating long and expensive travels with luggage. Limited variety in breakfast Breakfast staff not too helpful Quite compact rooms making it uncomfortable for a family Limited local facilities Felt to be quite expensive for the facilities offered In summary, the travellers need to consider the options most suitable to themselves.

Very rude staff in the breakfast area, one of the staff member made us put away dishes, she yelled at other guest when they did not put away the dishes, coffee machine was purposely shown out of order, toaster was shown out of order, when we insisted her we need coffee she angrily removerd the out of order sign, food was not enough in the breakfast, dirty cutlery, flys roaming around, our money was wasted in this hotel,

Modern and comfortable with AC

The hotel is pretty new and modern and priced reasonably in busy tourist season in Switzerland. It is a bit off from tourist hotspot so transport can be an issue if you don’t have a car. I paid 20 CHF for parking in the garage downstairs. The room is the right size, has air conditioning, and pretty comfortable overall. Will stay again.

Great staff & friendly staff however the management of this hotel is horrible. We stayed here for an exceptionally long period of time (2 weeks) with our 8 month old baby and upon checking in we were told that they prepared the sofa for our baby to sleep in. When we told them we requested a crib the person at the front desk felt horrible and tried to offer us a solution as they did not have any cribs in the facility. He was young and didn't know any better and so he offered to put towels around our baby while she sleeps as a barrier (we told him that our daughter can climb and this is extremely dangerous). He then found a basinet for us however again, she climbs therefore it is not safe for a baby. We ended up sleeping on the floor with our daughter that night (as the bed in our room was tiny) and then we spent the entire following day looking for a foldable crib. We found one about an hour and a half outside of the city. I contacted Expedia 4 separate times about this requesting some kind of refund as we had to use our own money to buy a foldable crib and wasted an entire day of our vacation looking for one (even though our booking said we would have one in our room) however the hotel ignored all 4 request. We saw a few reviews like this where the hotel did not respond to request made by guest complaints so this is just a warning for any parents travelling with a baby to maybe look at staying somewhere else.

Air conditioning system needs to be upgraded specifically in summer time with a remote control system. Breakfast was limited and the main disappointing was under staff. Had to ask the staff for refilling the Breakfast and it was like feeling shy to ask every often for the same things. MEDINE did try her best to serves the best possible breakfast, but she's got limited authority. Management is very poor and for Switzerland it's a shame. We hope they'll improve very sharply, otherwise close to train station & local supermarkets.

Hope you brought your wallet

It's evident that this hotel was newly renovated. It was lovely, with a beautiful and welcoming front lobby. The desk clerk who greeted us spoke English very well and was nice. The rooms were beautiful (I did love the shower), but we paid for a mountain view and were given the view of a neighbor's rooftop with a slice of a mountain visible from the corner of the window. Anything you can imagine is available at this hotel...for a fee. The website says parking on site. While that's true, it's only available if you pay an extra 20 CHF per day. Need an extra pillow? A fee? Want fresh towels? A fee. Want your linens changed? A fee. Get my drift? The included breakfast was ok. It was filling, but NOT worth 17-20 CHF. (Breakfast included: rolls, Gouda, salami, butter, jam, cereal, yogurt, scrambled eggs, and rice. Coffee, tea, and orange juice.) The neighborhood is lovely and it is conveniently located next to a train station, just be prepared to pay.
