The bed in our room was a little uncomfortable due to be broken in quite a bit but no complaints . The woman who checked us in was extremely pleasant we checked in on 7/26 at 3 pm thank you

Biggest room ever

Nicely updated large sized room. Liked that the sink area was outside bathroom. Parking was right outside to room. Coffee was wonderful and they even had decaf!!

Overall this hotel was one I would return too. Staff were fantastic, location was convenient, beds were comfortable & the room was clean. And the fridge was larger than most hotel fridges. The not super parts were that while it felt safe, I may not have liked it if I were alone at night. The room & property were clean, yet worn in ways that could at first appear unclean (for example: poorly patched areas of wall in the bathroom, a mix of towels that were a variety of colors, stained tub floor, crooked outlets.) Nothing that would make me not return but may not be okay with some people.

Ok two day stay.

Recently updated, AC wast fairly quiet, towels were poor quality and stained. Pillows were too soft and floors needed to be washed. Acceptable for the two nights were stayed.

The Elmwood was a great find. No more expensive than any others. The staff was welcoming. The picture is accurate, clean and recently renovated. The light continental breakfast was enough to get us going. The Carrabassett Coffee was excellent.

Upgraded rooms in a traditional 2 story motel

This hotel has been entirely renovated, very modern, cool wallpaper, innovative plumbing fixtures, lots of outlets for electronics. But it still has the basic 1960’s Motel architecture on two floor, so half the guests have to walk up the 16 steps to the second floor. Breakfast is continental, basically, cold cereal.

We stayed at The Elmwood for one night on our way home from Canada. The hotel isn't bad - the reason we chose it is becasue it's right off the highway and has rooms that open to the outside which makes getting in and out with our dogs very easy. The decor inside was nice and made it feel more like an upscale place, but there were a few things that didn't. There were several spots in the bathroom where holes had been quickly and sloppily spackled over - I'm assuming those will be cleaned up at some point, but it took away from the appearance they were going for. The layout of the bathroom is a little weird, but the shower was excellent. The bed was a king but one of the more uncomfortable hotel beds I've slept on. The staff was friendly and checking in/out was easy. Location was great - right off the highway and close to food and gas stations. Overall, not a bad place to spend the night, but not quite worth what we paid for it.

The person at check in was very nice. The room was recently updated but the towels and bed linens were thin, scratchy. The shower was good, but the floor drain in the shower needed to be better cleaned. There was no coffee maker of any kind in the room. Overall we expected more than below average linens, room amenities given what we paid.

Nice new renovation

Very well done renovations. Couple of rusty spots on metal furnishing. Linens were very old and thin. Some stains and a hole. Bathroom linens were very old and thread bare as well. If you’re looking for a one night stop it’s perfect.
