The building has a history, which is excellent for me. It's an older building, but it's in good condition. The staff was friendly. The room price was cheap. The bed was comfy. Bathrooms are relatively large. I have no problem revisiting the Architect! Thank you.

Lovely old hotel with character. Clean warm comfortable room with great shower.Budget room no view from window. No coffee maker in room but available in lobby free. Would definitely stay here again if I revisit DC.

The Architect is tucked away in a convenient location. There are lots of boutique and chain hotels near by from basic to business. It is a good area to stay in. The hotel is the lowest price in the area and it is clear why. It is run like a 1990's family owned motel. It should advetise if it is actually family owned so people know what they are getting. One elevator was broken, the coffee machine in the lobby is like an old church percolator, the keys demagnatize if they are near your phone, and the sheets and towels are a little frayed. But there are kind hard working people running the hotel. The bed felt like a memory foam mattress. It was comfortable. The one major issue is the hotel requires a credit card for security but also charges a 3% credit card fee. This should not be allowed on Expedia. It is one thing to have a fee when you let people pay cash. But this is a hotel. If you are looking for a centrally-located affordable place to stay and you are comfortable with the simplicity and character (but not architecture) of a late 20th century motel, stay here.

The building is gorgeous. It's in a great area near the trains. The rooms are small but have everything you need. Would definitely stay again. My favorite hotel in DC.

I was in DC for business and I was basically just in and out of the hotel. This place accommodated that at a good rate and in the area I was doing business. The room was small but clean, ultimately all I needed.

My room was clean and comfortable. Perfect for my quick business trip to D.C. I was able to walk to my venue, so it was the perfect location. Close to many restaurants and a very safe area.

Beautiful historic building.Quiet comfortable warm clean safe. 5 min from metro easy to get to museums all attractions waterfront etc. Lovely room excellent budget price. Only drawback view from window brickwall which made it dark. No coffee facilities in room. Bring travel kettle an coffee sorted. If I return to DC I will definitely stay there.

The property was convenient to the convention center. I love old architecture, but I was disappointed the hotel has not updated their security and key system. They lock the front entrance at night. I was out late during my stay and had to call the hotel for someone to buzz me in. They didn’t answer the door bell. That was kind of scary for a single woman traveling alone. The place was clean. Coffee and tea is in the lobby. The staff was nice. Great place to crash if you’re on a budget.
