Great location in downtown DC. Nice and historic - it is made from 3 1880's row houses and converted to a hotel. It has a very nice upscale restaurant, which seems quite popular with the locals.

The hotel is funky and eccentric in a good way. There are winding stairways, wonderful art, very unique hotel. The restaurant was stellar. The funky part was that there was no hot water in the evening, but it was back in the morning. In another hotel, it would have been a deal breaker, but here it we chalked it up to its eccentric nature. I would recommend staying here.

It was a lovely stay! A little concerning the amount of rats outside the hotel but I understand D.C. has a rat infestation at the moment. The hotel was exquisite…the room divine…the location ideal….the staff top notch. Just one lil funny thing….no door on the bathroom? What’s that about? 😆 thank you for all

The antithesis of a boxy chain hotel. Unique rooms, eclectic decor. Affordable, safe, friendly and centrally located. Not for everyone: no TVs, no elevator. Noisy neighborhood at times with middle of the night car alarms repeatedly set off. Food is excellent with a great bar and Victorian lounge.

I loved it. Is it a bit shopworn, and maybe in need of some paint and places? Probably. But that’s also part of its charm. You also won’t find a television in your room, and power sockets are premium! But you’ll also feel like you’re staying in an Agatha Christie novel. My room was room seven, with tall windows overlooking the street, a fireplace (no, it didn’t work, but it was great ambience), two beds, a lounge, multiple chairs, and a drop top desk in front of the window, where I did some work, and felt like very much like a character from the Great Gatsby. The dining room is top-notch, with a terrific bar—and be sure to order the Tabard donut. Finally, it’s in a terrific location, easily accessible by the Dupont Metro, and within walking distance of a number of great restaurants. Stay here. You’re gonna love it.
The front door, all dressed up for the holidays.
Room 7.
Room 7. I told you it looked like an Agatha Christie novel.
The wonderfully old school dining room.
