A key criterion for choosing my hotel in D.C. was that it provide breakfast. Extended Stay claimed to do so. What was provided does not meet a reasonable standard for "breakfast." There was coffee, hot water, five very little and unappealing muffins, and some packets of plain raw oatmeal. One could add hot water to the oatmeal, as I did, and use a plastic spoon that I had brought along in my bags, to dine on hot wet oatmeal flakes, better than nothing, but it was not really breakfast. There was no milk, no fruit, no eggs, no bread, no waffles, no juice, nor cereal (except for the oatmeal packets). It's deceptive for them to say they serve breakfast.
The room was old. There was a kitchen area with a stove, but pots, pans, cutlery, utensils, or plates, o it was just wasted space. There was a refrigerator, but a very noisy one that I had to turn off to sleep.
