Set atop the hill, the views are a major drawcard, but it does mean you have to brave the walk up the hill (or take an Uber). The hotel sits on a weird bend in the road, and the security doors (wonderful when you're a guest) don't look very welcoming when you arrive! We came at a very busy time so the receptionist was very busy checking multiple guests in and didn't hear the bell, so we probably waited outside longer than most. Once we were inside though, we felt very safe and the decor and furniture is very welcoming. The pods are cleverly designed to fit bed, bath and kitchen in, while leaving a good living space and balcony to enjoy the views, which are breathtaking. We spent quite a lot of time standing on the balcony enjoying the vista during our stay. I wish we liked wine more so we could have taken advantage of the offered bottles a bit more - we had dinner on the roof twice (amazing pizza the first night but limited to the charcuterie board the second due to 'lack of ingredients', apparently). That was disappointing as we were so far from the town and it was inconvenient to go elsewhere by that time. Overall it didn't really detract from the experience (not for me anyway, hubby might tell a different story). Really loved this hotel, even though we thought Valparaiso wasn't as impressive up close as we'd hoped.
