Meaning of the name 'Quinta' (Portuguese) Estate = rural property
Formerly residences of noble families and wealthy society. The name 'Quinta' describes a relatively large property with a house of a certain dimension surrounded by meadows and trees. As residential properties with high prestige, the Quinta was the 19th Century also constantly used as a residence. Usually there are also an observation deck and a gazebo on this property.

The Arabic word al-Gharb (Algarve) in German means "the West".


The interior leaves nothing to be desired.
It offers:
 - A fully equipped modern kitchen,
 - A separate dining room with a large glass marble table for 6 people,
 - A comfortable living room with elegant furniture, satellite TV (including German channels), DVD-CD radio player and a fireplace, the flames at the end of the day to dream and chat invite

Fantastic villa

Thomas and Maren are brilliant hosts, everything was ready for us when we arrived. The pool area is perfect for a family and the pool is not too deep. It's a great location to explore the Western Algarve with a supermarket 5 mins down the road.

Small paradise!

Perfect for families who like privacy and beach. The house have a superb swimming pool with exterior jacuzzi. The water is warmed by solar system. The house is fully equipped including a big TV set with 5.1 speakers. Another hi-fi with BT in home and a third in swinging pool where you can stream from you mobile music to the external speakers while you are swimming or in jacuzzi. The owners are great hosts, lifers ready to solve any problem at any time. There beaches 10 mins away by car and a super market 3 mins. It was a great experience! Nuno

We stayed here in June, what an amazing place. The house was lovely, clean and is bigger than it looks in the pictures. We loved the pool and outdoor area. The pool was maintained very well. Hosts were very welcoming. Would love to return.

This place is a gem. Gorgeous quiet spot in the middle of nature, spotless house tastefully decorated, comfortable beds, lovely pool. The only possible downside is that a car is a must.

Great place, cosy house, nice host

Went on a short surf trip, and even though it's bit to drive to the beaches, this is a great place to stay as long as you have a car. The house was clean and cosy, and the pools were nice. The only downside is that the outdoor bubble bath isn't heated, so when the sky darkens, the water cools down. Other than that, this place is great and I definitely recommend it.

we we're so excited to rent this property. It was a gorgeous yard with a beautiful villa. Maren was very nice and the house had all we needed. But the reason for us renting was really for the hot tub and pool which both we're not usable. Firstly the pool is not heated, perhaps this property should invest in a heater for guests. Or make sure to write up that the pool is very cold till the hotter months. Even Maren was surprised when she saw that I had jumped into the pool. FREEZING! The hot tub was not functioning and full of mosquito larva at the bottom of it. Disappointing. The place is gorgeous though and the house is so beautiful... grounds are well kept and you are not interrupted when staying here. 3 cute dogs run around but they are cute!

Spacious, quiet villa with beautiful garden and pool

This is the most spacious two bedroom villa we have ever stayed in. It is approached down a long private drive behind wrought iron gates and is a far cry from high density holiday flats. I would give 5 stars for everything except the beds. They are only averagely comfortable, with slight pressure points, with the exception of the third bed in the second room, which has beech slats that move with your body, and a quilted-top, foam mattress that you just sink into and no pressure points. I slept very well in this one, but not so well in the divans. Everything has been thought of so the kitchen is well equipped; I particularly liked the electric citrus juicer. The orchids on the sills were lovely. There were dishwasher tablets, washing powder and conditioner under the sink, which always helps to make you feel at home. The shower is amazing; the water pressure is so good that you can have the drench shower head on with the hand held shower head, plus the body jets! The conservatory furniture is really comfortable and with the sliding windows open it is a great place to relax with a view of the wonderful garden, that we never got tired of looking at. The fig trees and flowering shrubs held good birds too for us to add to our holiday birding list. I have such happy memories of our peaceful holiday here, breakfast at the table by the pool, soaking in the warm jacuzzi every afternoon when we returned from exploring the area; (amazing beaches and restaurants under 10 minutes drive, and great bird watching hotspots), followed by a swim in the gorgeous pool. The traffic from the nearby road is surprisingly unobtrusive (except on Sunday afternoons), and I am unusually sensitive to traffic; and can be completely shut out at night by the double glazing. So I felt this was a peaceful, quiet and undisturbed holiday home with very good sized gardens and large attractive pool, for our exclusive use. The night sky from the roof is amazing! Maren, the friendly and helpful owner, uses a cleaning robot at night in the pool, so as not to disturb us with cleaning tasks. She brought us a map of a shop location that we had been asking about. There are one or two cats about and two lovely older dogs, plus a couple of puppies, but they are only around when Maren is with them. Be aware that there are three sets of steps to get to the pool but no hand rails. We rarely visit the same place twice, but would be tempted to return here!

La propriete est magnifique et au calme. Spatieuse il y a tout ce qu il faut pour passer un super sejour. Nous avons eu du mal à quitter le coin piscine. Elle est tres bien située pour visiter le sud autour de Lagos et l ouest et ses plages de surf plus sauvages. Proprietaires discrets et efficaces. Une excellente adresse!

Nous avons passé 10 jours du 21 au 31 juillet, tout était parfait, la maison est superbe, la piscine et la jaccuzi sont très grands le jardin est magnifique. Un cadre idéal et une vue sur la ville très agréable. tout était absolument parfait, Maren et sont maris sont vraiment adorables, discret et disponible si besoin allez y les yeux fermés vous ne le regretterez pas Merci encore à Maren pour son hospitalité et sa gentillesse Nous reviendrons

... haben wir dort gefunden. Bequeme Betten, eine gut ausgestattete Küche, ein riesiger Pool und Vieles, Vieles mehr. Das Haus und auch die Außenanlage sind wunderschön. Unsere Kinder hat insbesondere der Wirlpool und nicht zuletzt auch den Netflix-Zugang begeistert. Mit dem Auto ist man in kurzer Zeit an den verschiedensten schönen Stränden der Algarve oder der Westküste. Wir kommen wieder...

Perfect Family Vacation

Had a wonderful time during my holidays in the Algarve. In great part due to this beautiful little villa. It was very clean and tidy with an awesome scenery view from the balcony and terrace. Had enough time to enjoy the quiet background reading a book, or having a barbecue by the pool with music and drinks. The whole property is small but very warm and welcoming with a beautifully decorated home where I felt like it had absolutely everything I needed to relax, cook and generally enjoy my stay. The two rooms were lovely with comfortable beds and easy access to a very clean and well equipped bathroom. The kitchen is a bit small but had absolutely everything one would need. The gardens are very well cared for and there are plenty of areas where you can have a quiet relaxing time. At intervals some very lovely and well behaved dogs, cats and chickens, moved freely around the villa which I enjoyed very much. Also horses! Maren, the owner, is lovely, extremely discrete and very helpful with every detail that was addressed between us. Absolutely loved all of it. Would love to be able to return some other time.

Très bon séjour chez maren !

La maison est vraiment très bien ! Non seulement très belle mais aussi très pratique : elle est centrale à toutes les belles plages des alentours (15/20 min en voiture). Maren est une hote très discrète et serviable. Seule petite ombre au tableau le manque de lumière à la piscine-terasse d’ete pour le soir. Mais qui se règle facilement :) Vous pouvez aller chez maren les yeux fermés.
