A stylish hotel, but, the service doesn't live up to the concept. Before arrival we were bombarded with messages asking us to check-in online. Since they wanted us to input large amounts of personal data on their app, I replied that I would check-in at the hotel and was told this was not possible. On arrival there were terminals to check-in but these still took far more personal info than normal and wanted to make charges for basics such as teabags !! The experience was impersonal and left a bad first impression. We eventually found a staff member to ask about wifi codes, but, they were unable to give us info about data retention policies.
The rooms were quirky, but, had comfortable beds, good sound insulation and very effective curtains/blinds. Wifi in the rooms was terrible, I had intermittent connection whilst my colleague had none. Worse on 3 of the nights my power went out leaving me in pitch black - on the worst occasion for 20 minutes. As there are no phones in the room I couldn't tell reception.
The hotel seems to run with a skeleton staff; one person on reception, who cannot leave to solve issues. I asked for an iron and was asked to return to collect it. When I did the lady was apologetic that she hadn't had time to get it but would bring it to my room within 30 mins. She did not. The following day I asked again and was told that all irons were in guest rooms and she couldn't get me one.
Breakfast was ok - but lacked variety. They did provide gluten free bread.
