Careful not to mistake this for the hotel nextdoor

Firstly I would say that when I went onto Booking's.com, I had a specific hotel I wanted to stay in. Bookings showed me a photo of the hotel, which I knew was the one I wanted to stay in, plus a good price. So I booked it. Only to find it was the apartment next door. I should have been more careful, but I think there was also a degree of misdirection by the apartment owner by using a photo showing the hotel next door! However, the apartment was clean, it had a small kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, fridge and hob, plus the bathroom had a washing machine. (just no soap for any of them). It would suit a small family. But taking into account, there was no room service, no place to leave your bags if you arrive early or want to leave late, no included breakfast or air conditioning. I do not think I got as good a deal, as if I had booked the right hotel, next door in the first place, which has amazing helpful staff.

We wanted to stay at the Harmonie Hotel on Harmoniegasse. However when my friend rang to book the hotel she was offered these apartments as a better alternative to the rooms at the hotel. Needless to say we took up the offer. The two properties are a world apart and the apartments should not be offered as a suitable alternative to the hotel. Our apartment was depressing I'm afraid. It was dirty, smelt and felt damp, and was poorly fitted out. Not the sort of place you wanted to spend time in. The shower was stained. the electrics were dangerous, the kitchen and bedroom fittings were shabby. Communication with the owners is difficult and access to the property when you first arrive is problematic. There is no reception desk at these apartments. The pictures of the property are misleading, they are nowhere near as clean or tidy as they appear. Also some of the photos are of the ivy clad exterior of the Harmonie Hotel, so deliberately misleading. The Harmonie hotel next door was beautiful and would have made our holiday so much more special and memorable. Instead, although Vienna was lovely, the holiday was definitely spoilt by the accommodation mix-up.

Harmony Apartments NOT Harmony Hotel

Be careful. Harmony Hotel has a very good rating from Orbitz, but Harmony Apartments next door to the hotel is a dirty, mold infested apartment, and over priced. Plus you have to prepay with NO cancellation and than you have to wire a $50 cleaning fee before you get there. Be extra careful when you search Harmony Vienna on the booking sites!

Vienna Harmoniegasse

These apartments should not be confused with the Harmonie Vienna, Best Western Premier. The two apartments we rented were terrible. The apartments had broken down, second hand furniture, a broken shower door, scuff/dirt marks on the walls and hair stuck to the wall in the bathroom. It was equivalent to staying in an old, unclean Motel 6. The common entry to the building looked like a tenement building with dirty walls, half-torn off postings and placards and dirty floors. If you are on a budget and don't mind sleeping in a rundown apartment, then this is the place.

Nice apartment!

Very nice furnished apartment. Near bus, tram. Very simple but comfortable. Extra payment of EUR48 for cleaning.
