We had a nice stay. Great location, lovely cocktail bar, super lovely staff. Clean and tidy rooms. The building is a bit old/dated but well maintained. Easy walking to shops, restaurants, bars and a nice walk to the dockside. Would recommend for the price.

This quaintly updated hotel is a Heritage site that is within walking distance to several amenities includung grocery and the hospital. There are 3 restaurants attached to the hotel with fantastic breakfast, lunch and dinner options, including fine Italian dining. I loved the vintage details kept. I was travelling on my own for medical and felt welcomed and safe. Thanks for a great stay!

I've stayed at Moda a few times now and love it. The staff are always nice and respectful and ready to help. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There are a lot of small restaurants near by that are walkable and affordable, I recommend checking out Chit chat burger bar. There are also a few venues near by that make it perfect if you want a comfortable hotel to stay in after a show.

I rarely write reviews but I feel it necessary to let other guests know the conditions of the rooms for the amount of money you pay. Even though the title of the room says mini, I never dreamed it would be this small. We couldn’t open our suitcases without blocking a path to the bed and the furniture looked like it could fall apart at any moment. You need to change the shower head in the shower because it doesn’t allow you any space to wash your hair or body. I feel like we were robbed with the amount of money we paid. The place is very worn down all around. The only positive thing was the front desk staff.

Building needs and room equipment such as TVs needs an update. For the price it’s selling for per night at least the room should be decent. No bottle water lid underneath the bedsheet and the shower curtains should be hanged properly, the bathroom tiles should be cleaned properly. Friendly staff though, convenient parking.

This place is very old and outdated. Smoke detector starts beeping when you shower sometimes. The parking is inconvenient and in the building next door. Very friendly staff though.

The big surprise was that we were there to attend the Paul Simon concert at the Orpheum and the first thing we saw from the window of our room was the entry to the Orpheum Otherwise a really nice little hotel with very pleasant staff - met 3 diff. shifts - aging building but nice decor, much prefer that to the typical standardized, sanitized newer hotels. Bed was very comfortable. Two restaurants downstairs - very good service and reasonable prices.

Check-in was slower than expected, especially considering the 3 PM check-in time. It took longer than necessary, which wasn’t ideal after a long journey. The lobby had an odd smell and didn’t feel very welcoming—something about the atmosphere felt off. On the plus side, the left luggage service was prompt, easy, and efficient—definitely appreciated. The corridors, however, had dirty carpets and felt dark and dingy, which gave a poor first impression before even entering the room. The room itself was disappointing in terms of cleanliness. There was a noticeable smell of sweat, and the carpet is dirty and smelly. That said, the sheets and bath linen were clean, which was a relief. The coffee machine is of good quality, but there was no accessible power switch or socket nearby, making it frustrating to use. The bathroom was a decent size, but the toilet seat had loose hinges and clearly needed maintenance. As for the view, the room faced another building, so not much to look at. quite a few areas need improvement—especially cleanliness and maintenance.

Moda Hotel

This room was just an overnight stop before our cruise the next day, and we wanted something affordable near Canada Place. Moda fit that bill but the room was so tiny. It was hard for a family of 4 to comfortably unwind after a long day of travel. Luckily we weren’t there long. The hotel is also in a loud part of the city so expect traffic noise all day and night. It is also convenient to many shopping and dining options. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful.
