Valence August 2025

Clean comfortable room although handle of the shower did not attach to the wall fitting. Very good breakfast despite there being no eggs. Wonderful fresh croissants. Very convenient location for city centre and station.

Central, clean and friendly

Very central for Valence. Next to the train station for safe underground parking at the station, and also easy to navigate to (hotel gave a discount on the parking). Valence centre doesn't have much traffic and is great to walk around and right on your doorstep. Helpful hotel manager with a bar and restaurant on site.

We were early arriving but were accommodated straight away, helpful with a smile. Location is could for valence, the car park arrangement with the station is very good. Breakfast good. Room quite small, but adequate.

Lovely Surprise

Cycle touring. Anything that makes cycle touring easy is good. The managers/owners of this hotel were magnificant and couldn't have been more helpful. The room was lovely and clean. Only (small) negative was that the shower was hand held only.

The room was serviceable, an interior room, so no view whatsoever. A bit dated. Lovely dining area and good breakfast. Once we were able to get to parking, it was convenient, but it took us an hour to do it. (half hour searching for paid street parking and then another half hour trying to find the entrance of the compensated lot parking).

Value for money

Excellent value for money for a 2 star hotel. Bedroom was comfortable & clean. With the shutters closed there was no noise from outside. Very convenient for parking at the station & a discount on the parking charge. Well placed for visiting tourist areas of the town. Breakfast was basic but plentiful & good quality.

We used Les Negociants as a stop pver en route to the South but I'd jave like d to stay for a couple of days longer - Valence is a lovely town in a spectacular location and Les Negociants was a great little hotel to use for a couple of days to explore. Its a bit quirky and the decor is, mostly, modern 'boutique' style but the building is typical old French town house - narrow and tall. Handily set for the Station and easy to find from the Autoroute, there were plenty of decent looking bars and reataurants nearby. The staff were great in getting us settled and the car safely parked.
