Great location but gets really loud on the weekends in the plaza it faces - tourists/students partying in the streets till 4am so make sure you take a pair of the free earplugs they hand out. Close to the canals the tower and a 10 minute walk to the station - everything you need. Front desk staff really nice and welcoming. The connecting 5th restaurant is a decent (if overpriced) spot.

Good value/location for the Netherlands

Considering the prices of hotels/hostels in Utrecht and its location, its a pretty good deal. The rooms are barebone but clean and spacious enough (as far as the private ones go). I would stay there again, but keep in mind its no frills!

This hostel is the perfect place for a weekend in Utrecht. We were 2 friend with 3 kids under 4 years old and the personnel was extremely kind to us. The structure is well equipped to host kids, they have high chairs for breakfast and also baby cots upon request. Cannot recommend enough.

Great location ! We had a room overlooking the main square which was great for people watching. Only an 8 minute walk to the train station. Loved that they had laundry facilities on site. It is perfect for young people. The place was full of teenagers, or people below 25 or even less! It isn't quiet because of that. They were partying :). So for adults, only to stay one night or so. The location is terrific!

Stayokay Utrecht is part hostel with bunk beds, and part hotel with very basic rooms. Staff is nice and helpful. It is very centrally located on a busy square. Very noisy during the night if your room faces the square. They give free earplugs at the reception.

Freezing room

We had the six bed room with private bathroom. While spacious, the room was freezing with cold air blowing on us in the middle of winter. There were two showers but one was not useable because of the smell.
