Grubby carpet in the room. There was just one towel and not even a bath floormat. No shower mat for the bath. From 6am the corridor doors were continually slamming as guests were leaving. Building looks great from outside though.

Faulty Towers

Solo female traveller - first room I was given couldn’t be locked from the inside. Asked for the problem to be fixed or given another room. After some suggestion that it was too late for maintenance to help (9.30pm) and the hotel was fully booked so no alternative rooms, they found me another room. Apparently a “suite”. However, it was absolutely filthy, furniture literally falling apart and stank of smoke… oh and the heating was stuck on when it was 25°c outside. Would have got a shower to cool off but I feel I would have come out dirtier. Avoid avoid avoid!!!!

A lovely family stay

1 night stay as a family of 4. (2 adults, 3.5 year old and 15 month old) At first I was a little reluctant to book, after seeing some bad reviews, but I'm glad I looked past them. The room was lovely! The perfect set up for what we wanted. We came away for my husbands 30th birthday and the location was a good mid point stay between where we were going over 2 days. The hotel even set up a low camp bed for our youngest, which saved us lugging her travel cot into the room. It was quite warm in the room and only a small desk fan available. We were on the 2nd floor and had to sleep with the windows all fully open and even then the children were unsettled. Luckily there is a park just around the corner, so we went for an early norning walk there. Breakfast was lovely! Staff were all friendly and chatty. We also sat in the garden for a drink in the evening, it was really nice and cool down there. The room was clean and well presented. Tea coffee and biscuits in the room. There was even a little fridge, perfect to store our daughters milk! We will definitely return if we head that way again. Thank you for a lovely stay!!
Sofa bed was all set up on arrival

There is no jnr or superior suite, just suite

Feel completely miss sold and ripped off, its my anniversary so I paid the extra for a superior suite. We went to our room and then back to reception to check I had the correct room. I was told I have a suite so I explained that it was advertised as Jnr or superior, I wanted to ensure I have a superior not jnr and was told there is just suite and I have a suite! Nothing at all like the pictures, dirty stained carpets throughout, the water pressure in the shower was non existent, the description suggests a bath, no bath. At least the room was in the main building and not the 60s office block at the back. It should be described as an old quirky building with the option of a double or suite, thats it, not a double, superior double and definetly not jnr or superior suite that you pay the most for. The bar staff and one man covering reception in the evening were all great, friendly and helpful.

Tired and run-down

Hotel is definitely in need of a refurb. Our room and the other common areas felt very run down, and I don’t think reflective of the price we paid for our stay. We had a dodgy shower that was very difficult to turn on/off. There was no air conditioning and it was a warm day so we had an uncomfortable nights sleep. We arrived early as we were off to a wedding and unfortunately there was no capacity for us to check in early (even though I called the night before to check if that was an option and was told to do it upon arrival). The receptionist did allow us to get ready in a meeting room which was helpful, but being able to check in early would’ve been better!

Our room was NOT clean.. there was a mirror inside a wardrobe and was thick with dust.. so thick I was able to write in it.. can send over photos of you would like to see. Was a kettle and tea facilities but no water glasses or cups. Came back late and tried the main door and was locked. Before we could ring the number on the window a member of staff opened the door and was unnecessarily rude and belittling, another gentleman was sitting down drinking and he found this very amusing..unsure if another member of staff or his friend. There's tape on the stairs where it needs replacing, there are hot lamps just left on the floor near the side door near the parking area. I will say that the reception staff were absolutely lovely. A lady checked me in and another lady check me out and I could not fault their service.. really friendly

Run down but comfortable

Really comfy bed and nice toiletries provided. Breakfast was ok. But was a bit run down and grubby. Carpet was pretty grim in the room and toilet bowl needed a bleach! Tea and coffee provided was quite cheap. Compared to competitors at that price like the premier inn it felt a bit like I overpaid. Id say the photos outlining what looked a bit luxurious was a bit misleading. No phone in room to contact reception. But all in all fine. You get what you pay for.

General

Nice place stayed before Breakfast 8£ on hotels.com www but no times so waited until I checked in then they charged me £10 ! Also they had recently refurbished the room but the tv didn’t work reported it long walk back to reception as there are no phones in the rooms it took 30 mins for someone to come fit it - good result There was a “prom” night on so lots of noise in the green space till late Access to the carpark is tight not that they can do much about it but I’m sure if you’ve a big or wide car it won’t fit

The hotel room was dirty with stains on the carpet, dirty shower curtain, and toilet bowl. The towel rail wouldn't switch off, and the bed had a winter quilt. In june. The staff werent interested when we complained. I would advise people not to use it.
