Uluru Holiday Packages

Where can you find a colour-changing monolith, two iconic Australian landmarks (each with two names), and some of the best photos you’ll ever take? Why, Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, of course. Uluru (a.k.a. Ayers Rock) lights up anywhere from rusty orange to flaming red to vibrant purple, depending on how the sun hits it. It’s quite possibly the largest single rock of its kind, and because it rises an impressive 348 metres above the surrounding plain, it will take your breath away.

Then there’s Kata Tjuta (a.k.a. The Olgas), a bunch of smaller domed rocks that geologists theorize used to be an even larger monolith the would have put Uluru to shame.

And guess what? You get to check them both out—in one park,in one getaway, with our Uluru holiday packages. It’s the biggest BOGO this millennium!

Stuff to Do

If you think these landmarks look impressive from the ground, just wait until you see them from the air! Book a helicopter ride and soar over them both. Want unique photos that you can’t get from the designated car parks? Then grab a backpack or slap some gear on a camel and head off the beaten path. We’ve no doubt you’ll recall this natural wonder forever, but a picture on your work computer is the fastest way to tick off your co-workers.

Now that you’ve experienced the park for yourself, head to the Cultural Centre to learn about its importance to the local Aboriginal tribes as well as how the area was set aside and protected for travellers like yourself to enjoy on holidays to Uluru.

Change of Colours

Feeling a little rusty today? Then take your time rolling out of bed and check out Ayers Rock in the afternoon. If you’re looking to warm yourself early in the morning, then the flaming reds reflecting off “The Rock” around dawn are exactly what you need. Trust us. Setting your alarm on Uluru holidays is worth it! Just bring a cuppa to keep you awake before the excitement begins.

At the end of a long day of exploring, a bit of blue-purple will help you relax before you turn in for the night. Which is perfect, because that’s exactly what you’ll see at sunset. Think Uluru will match the colour of the vintage you’ll have at dinner later?

Where to Visit

Alice Springs is the gateway to Uluru, but the closest village to The Rock is Yulara. Pick up one of our Uluru car hire options at the dedicated Ayers Rock Airport and start your adventure. Since you’re in the area, why not use our Uluru packages to check out Kings Canyon, too? Less than 350km away, it’s just as beautiful. And while Ayers Rock is just a tiny pimple on the face of the Earth, you can see the black wrinkles of the canyon from space…or at least, all the way zoomed out on Google Earth. We haven’t actually checked it out from space ourselves.

Ready to scoop up these Uluru package deals? We don’t blame you. Who can resist the allure of The Rock? In your haste to begin your adventures, don’t forget about our Alice Springs packages, too. Located about 450km north of Uluru, Alice Springs is the perfect place to trade stories and show off your photos with fellow monolith-lovers. Wotif takes the best deals on the web and puts them all at your fingertips, so get started today!
