Ban Chiang has fascinating excavation sites that reveal hidden things from the Bronze Age. You can see the digs, learn about the area’s history, and check out some of the objects that have been unearthed. For even more information, head to the Udon Thani Provincial Museum. At Phu Phrabat National Park, you can see some old cave paintings. Near to the city, you will find several interesting villages known for their various crafts. Ban Nakha produces an array of cotton and silk items, and is the perfect place to pick up clothes, bed linen, and everything else from table runners to tissue box covers! You’ll find even more shopping at the markets and malls. There are several pleasant parks and open spaces around the city, great for some quiet time and relaxation in between all that shopping.
