Get away from it all in this recently renovated house in the hills bordering Joshua Tree National Park. This relaxing retreat sits on 3 acres of land, with plenty of outdoor space and stunning panoramic views. It is ideally located just a few miles from Joshua Tree Village and the Park entrance.

The house is located on 3 acres of land at the foot of the Joshua Tree hills. It is newly renovated, modern with mid-century and rustic touches and beautiful concrete floors. It has a full kitchen and dining area, with most everything you could need for cooking.

There are 2 King Bedrooms, an extra queen bed (real bed, not a pullout couch) in the garage lounge. Oh... did I mention the garage lounge?

We converted the garage into a lounge/game room with a pool table and 55" flat screen TV, DVD player and Roku (Netflix, etc).

There is a large patio with several outdoor spaces including a covered lounge area with sofa and lounge chairs, a 6 person outdoor dining area with a propane bbq grill covered by a pergola, and an uncovered lounge area. Amazing views of the desert can be scene from every outdoor space. There is also a 6 person outdoor hot tub with panoramic views... perfect for unwinding after a day in the park.

Although we can accommodate 6 guests, the house is most comfortable for 2-4 guests, as there is only 1 full bathroom. The full bath has 2 showers in it - a stall shower and a tub with a shower, so it is ideal for couples and those that are comfortable with each other!

This is a beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood near Yucca Valley. Great space with plenty of amenities, including a great view. The owners were very communicative and we greatly enjoyed our stay.

We loved the blend of old and new of this property located just outside Joshua Tree National Park. The property was clean and well stocked. I highly recommend this property to anyone interested in staying near the park. My only regret is that we could not stay there longer.

We enjoyed our stay Rockwood. The location is great and the property is as described and the pictures are accurate. The game room is a great gathering spot and the outdoor areas are fantastic. It’s close to the park and town yet quiet and relaxing. After a day of hiking and exploring relaxing in the hot and watching the stars was a great night cap! Rockwood Hill House was the perfect launching pad for our family adventures. The home was impeccably clean, tastefully decorated and well stocked with bathroom and kitchen supplies. Our first morning we saw one of the most stunning sunrises of our life. It’s also a fun house to spend time with your teenage and young adult children. We would definitely stay here again. Cheers!

Wonderfully clean and relaxing home. The pool table and beautiful sunrises provided great entertainment. The hosts are pros! Our stay was worth every penny, which isn’t true of very much these days! Amazing views

The Rockwood Hill House is a lovely stay in the high desert, with amazing views overlooking the Yucca Valley. Getting there was easy with detailed instructions. The kitchen, dining, and living rooms are spacious and there was lots of outdoor space for eating and relaxing. The game room is a huge bonus! I only wish we could have stayed longer. We will certainly be back, maybe with friends!

Rockwood Rocks!

We had a great 5-night stay at Josh and Don’s lovely Joshua Tree home. Their home was comfortable (great mattresses) and felt very private. Lots of room to both spread out and have family together time. The outdoor spaces where we sat, ate, read books, stargazed, and listened to birdsong were spectacular! The view is panoramic and we watched the sunrises and sunsets. The entrance to Joshua Tree National Park is just a few minutes from the house. A 5 star plus property- hoping we can return soon!

Everything we needed!

Everything we would need and more in the kitchen. Game room a fun and comfy place to hang out. Nice views and lovely outdoor spaces. Heaters took a while to warm up the house but it was cold and windy when we arrived. They eventually caught up. Pictures made it seem a little more wild and remote than it was, but it was still a private, quiet retreat while being easy to get to town and the national park. Very responsive host!
