Lots of pros. Some cons
Let me start with the property owner is very kind and sounds local so hopefully the money for the rental is actually benefiting Jamaicans. The pictures are a very accurate representation of the property. It's very private. The pool was amazing. A private pool is hard to come by especially at this price point. There were shade trees to relax outside. The fridge was small but completely adequate for a few days. They had shampoo, conditioner, bodywash and facewash. The ad lists a bbq grill and an oven. There is no grill. Theres a microwave and 1 electric burner. There's a good a/c. Theres no water heater but the shower was rarely cold during our visit. Heads up that there is NO lake access, its restricted, theres lots of bushes and many locals said theres crocodiles and its proptected by the government. One thing there is plenty of is ants. There were HUNDREDS inside and thousands on every surface outside. Luckily they dojt bite but I had ants in all the food before I left and in my purse, they are now in my suitcase, my clothes, they were in the bathroom, on all the dishes, in the bed, on the tables, all the counters, in both sinks, hundreds. The bed was pretty hard and too small. For Jamaica the price was great. If it could be a hard, small bed or ants i would probably go again just for the pool. If you book the fishing excursion separately with the owner, its 3 hours, not 4, you have to start at 7am, he keeps the boat going the whole time, so no swimming or anything else.
