Our reception was curt and unwelcoming. Asking for help on how to lower the window shutter was met with a very surly response, almost derision. The room was basically functional and clean enough. We had to find pillows. The shower was weak. What was nice was having a small balcony to eat breakfast (we didn't want to risk breakfast) - but bear in mind this backs on to quite a busy train line.

Good old fashioned comfort

Only a single night stay as we travelled through France, but this place was a very comfortable little stopover. The whole place had a comfortable, family-run feel that was welcoming without being fussy. Our room was comfortable for a family of four, with a nice bathroom en suite. Only drawbacks were a lack of tea and coffee making facilities, and it was a bit stuffy in the very warm weather. Location is great though, being a short walk from the centre of this lovely old town. A few reviewers have said they had an issue with the parking but, while it's true that you can't park on site, a short walk down to the river reveals a large car park where you can park overnight for free. All in, a good spot to stay.
