We offer you pure relaxation at the former Prieuré Saint Martial.
The Prieuré Saint Martial in Alignan-du-Vent refers to a former
monastery that was likely built in the 8th century by monks of the Benedictine Order on
the site of what was originally a Roman villa. Parts of the bell tower and the fountains in the courtyard still survive from that period. In the 15th century, the monks built a new chapel—which still stands today—and in the 18th century, the entire monastery was expanded.
Decades later, the property passed into private ownership. Following this acquisition
, the entire estate was gradually and lovingly transformed into a magnificent
retreat for rest and relaxation. Today, the estate comprises
several apartments, all of which are privately owned and used by the owners
primarily as holiday homes, some of which are also rented out to holidaymakers
. A beautiful, natural park filled with the cheerful chirping of birds and the buzzing of cicadas, two well-maintained swimming pools, and ample parking are available to all co-owners and their holiday guests.
Our renovated “Laudes” apartment, approximately 53 m² in size, features a spacious living area that includes a sleeper sofa, which can accommodate a third person if needed. There is also a separate bedroom with a double bed and a closet. Integrated into the living area is a new, fully equipped kitchen, including an oven and dishwasher. You’ll find a renovated bathroom with a wheelchair-accessible shower, a washing machine, and a separate toilet. The property is located in an oasis surrounded by vineyards in the Hérault department, in the Occitanie region of southern France. Private internet access (Wi-Fi/fibre optic) is available. A new, internet-enabled TV allows you to watch not only French but also German television via the corresponding apps. The property also includes a small front yard for your exclusive use—equipped, of course, with patio furniture and a gas grill.
The location between the two villages of “Tourbes” and “Alignan-du-Vent” is quiet; the
road connecting these villages runs past our property. It’s about a 2.5-km drive to the villages, where you’ll find both bakeries and
cafés, as well as a very typical, authentic Southern French atmosphere.
Pézenas is about 6 km away; it’s one of the most beautiful small towns in southern France, featuring
fascinating Renaissance-era buildings and one of the most beautiful markets
held every Saturday.
We look forward to your visit.
