Stayed at this Sandman for one night and it was wonderful. The hotel is very clean and everything is nicely appointed. The front desk staff were so welcoming and friendly. Went to Moxie‘s for dinner and had a great meal. I love that they give you a $15 off coupon as well. My room was spacious, comfortable, and one of the cleanest rooms I have ever stayed in. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The only downside is the noise from the aircraft, but it’s right next to the airport so that is to be expected.

Not so welcoming front desk

Overall, it was fine. We didn’t like that we weren’t made to feel welcomed when we tried to do an early check-in. I understand that hotels don’t normally do that but it would’ve been nice for the front desk to be kinder to us especially when we ask because we just came in for a very early arrivals time at the airport. It just felt like we were a nuisance whenever we ask if there’s a room available. I also did not appreciate that when it was finally our time to check-in to the room and we’re doing our credit card hold for the $300 refundable fee, we weren’t informed that if we did use debit card that we wouldn’t be able to an express checkout. Sandman still hasn’t gotten back with us about how to proceed with our refund. When we called back after I got a voicemail, we were already back home in BC.
