We don’t usually write reviews and we’re quite forgiving of lots of things. We waited a week after our trip to se how we felt but our experience here was so off we decided to review it. The exchanges by phone were wild. It’s the first time ever, in a lot of travelling, that the didn’t seem to be able to connect out Hotels.com info. We had to replay everything to them, even the type of room we booked.

Booked this hotel because it was very close to the airport and perfect to grab some proper sleep after a transatlantic journey from London and ahead of an early morning domestic flight. Really don’t understand why they have to take a huge deposit for extras when we implicitly told them we would only be in the room 7 hours. Despite the hotel being so close to the airport, the noise pollution was terrible. I’ve slept in airport hotel rooms before and heard nothing at all. After falling soundly asleep, the fire alarm went off at 0230 and we were ordered to evacuate. Once evacuated, there was no clear plan on where we should stand. The majority of the guests just stood INSIDE the lobby. No all clear was given to those standing in a safe place away from the building. We noticed the lobby emptying and it appeared the drill was over. But the queue for the lifts was horrendous. When we tried to find the stairs to the 8th floor, we asked a hotel security guy where to go and he didn’t know where the stairs were and we should wait for a lift. We found them eventually. Would not have rated my survival chances had this been a real fire. Disappointing stay. Wouldn’t recommend. These places need to be refurbished or closed.

Comfy room with a fire alarm twist

Having a fire alarm at 2am wasn’t cool and no reason offered as to the reason for the false call. Alarm rang and five mins later staff came on to note to leave the room. Parking not intuitive to use - requires room key to go in and out.

Anime North Recommendation

One of the most secure hotels I have stayed at in all my times of travel. Friendly service, a wide variety of items served at breakfast, and the room rates were very reasonable in comparison to other hotels in the area for the time I stayed there. I look forward to staying there again!
