Grand hotel in the desert

Fantastic old-time hotel. The owners have really done a nice job keeping the vintage vibe. The pix of celebrity guests is very nice. My only suggestion for making it better would be to ditch the tacky video gambling machines in the lobby.

We did it for the experience. The place was OK but not great. The carpets were dusty along the walls. The AC worked but wasn't cold. The shower sprayed everywhere and made a mess on the floor.

This place is known for being haunted. That’s why I chose to stay there. The owners are in the middle of updating things but be prepared for some quirks. It’s over 110 years old and spent a long time closed. For example, when I took a shower, the pipes weren’t happy. They essentially yelled at me lol. However, I would most definitely stay here again. If you’re a history buff or into ghost hunting, I HIGHLY recommend staying here. The staff was incredible, fun hotel to explore, cool area to explore, a casino is next door and there are restaurants/bars in walking distance. I recommend the Lady in Red wine in the lobby bar. This place feels like you’re being transported back in time with some spooky vibes. Nothing felt uncomfortable. Did have ghost tube say “leave this place.” I said “I can’t tonight but first thing in the morning!” Ghost tube said “Thanks. Sorry.” I had a good laugh. Felt something tug on my shirt a couple times. Felt like playful spirits. Go in with good energy and realistic expectations. Thoroughly enjoyed the Mizpah! I’ll be back!

What a gem of a hotel. One of the more unique stays I’ve had. I enjoyed learning the history of the Mizpah. The pictures throughout the hotel and displays were wonderful. Room was quiet and comfy. 10/10

I thoroughly enjoy my stay at the Mizpah. This was my 4th visit. The staff is a down home group. You are welcomed gracefully. Its a clean environment and absolute lovely. Love it 😀

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel experienced a huge disruption that was cause by another guest and the hotel staff handled it beautifully. Great staff, super cute hotel and legend is, it is haunted. We didn't experience any ghosts. Maybe next time. Lol I reccomend this hotel if you are traveling through Tonapah

Decline in Service

We have been staying at the Mizpah at least 2 times per year for the last 11 years. We love this historic hotel, but we have started to notice a decline in service and amenities. For example - breakfast of bacon, eggs, tater tots and toast is now $15.00 on a PAPER Plate! And, we have to order and pay before we can even sit down.

Hotel stay was great. We always stay here when in the area. But have to say I was disappointed in the breakfast area. Have to order at the breakfast check in counter. Plastic cutlery, and paper cups. Takes away the ambivalence of the hotel.
