My room (ondol) was spotless and just perfect for a solo traveller. I had everything I needed. The staff here are a pleasure to deal with and so professional. It's a great location in a true fishing area of Tongyeong. Highly recommend.

I visited the Anchovy Hotel eight years ago, and this is my second time. The still-chic staff, slightly pricier cafรฉ drinks, and the familiar room conditions brought back a lot of memories.

an extremely run down establishment, with very poor service especially from the girl in restaurant that made breakfast.. uncooked meat & other food slapped on one plateโ€ฆ ie egg, tomatoe toast & fruit all mixed upโ€ฆcouldnโ€™t drink the coffeeโ€ฆi asked for bacon to be cooked better, refused to do soโ€ฆ she was rude, in helpful & didnโ€™t care about guests, too busy on phone & laughing with local fishermenโ€ฆ i liked the location close to fishing boat wharves but that was the best thing about hotelโ€ฆ.ieโ€ฆthe action going on outsideโ€ฆ. i asked for laundry service at reception early am, they said okโ€ฆ came back in evening & it was still at reception, not laundered so i took it back dissapointedโ€ฆ. absolutely no english spokenโ€ฆ difficult when booking online so hope this helps YOU make better decision than i didโ€ฆ.

We enjoyed our stay at this pleasant and well situated mid range hotel. The hotel is on the waterfront and within walking distance of the central tourist attractions. The ferry terminal is about a 15-20 minute walk. The room - deluxe double ocean view was large and comfortable with all required amenities. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this hotel for a good value stay in tongyeong

Anchovy is a very nice place at walking distance (few hundreds m.) from Gangguan but in a quieter corner. Ample, spotless room w picturesque view of sea. The staff helped me find my way through Tongyeong and to the ferries to the islands.

It was a great hotel, big room and comfortable rooms. The location is a short walk (20 min) down a busy street that isnโ€™t so pedestrian friendly. We loved the quaint, unique location and we were always up for the walk to mural village, turtle ships, Diprang light show.

Great location, great bed

This was a great hotel. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars across was for something that was easily corrected. There was a padded blanket that was over the fitted sheet that was awkward to sleep on. We asked for a second sheet to cover it and the rest of the stay was terrific. Good location (beware it is a working port); view was ok - not the best, but not the worst. Great location for access to Yi park, sculpture park, market and mural village. Easy to access. They spoke good english and were always helpful. Bed was amazing by Korean standards! Slept like home!
