We had a great girls weekend away. Weather and foliage were perfect and spending time together can't be beat. Enjoyed the spacious deck for breakfast and built an evening fire near the water edge making memories.

This property is in an absolutely beautiful location. The house was clean upon our arrival. There are two reasons for my 4 star instead of 5 star review. 1. They make you bring your own toilet paper, towels, dish towels, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, hand soap, trash bag, any "consumable" you can think of. It's well stated in the lease and we did it, but it's certainly not convenient and a bit odd. 2. The basement is quite damp/musty and there this is clearly an ongoing issue since there is a dehumidifier down there AND an air purifier. Dehumidifier needs to be hooked up to a drain so that it runs continuously. It was October so we were able to open windows and air it out at night, but 2 of the 3 bedrooms are in the basement and if we weren't able to open the windows it would've been unbearable. We didn't have our kids with, but if we had and were planning on them sleeping in the basement we wouldn't have allowed them to because of asthma/air quality sensitivity. The only stairs to the basement are in the photo. This was also well stated in the reviews, but if anyone has any mobility issues at all or small children, it would be very difficult/impossible for them to use the stairs. Overall, price was right, hot tub worked, location excellent. Fix the damp basement and it's 100% a 5 star property.

The Haven cabin was an amazing location for a reunion. The space was clean, in a beautiful setting, and had multiple activities to enjoy. The small lake was nice though not really suitable for swimming due to weeds/algae. The cabin itself is spacious and well equipped. However, the inside spiral staircase to the lower level would be treacherous for anyone with limited mobility or the elderly.

The Haven was expensive & dirty!Mouse poop in a kitchen drawer, then a mouse chewed through my bag in the downstairs bedroom during our stay. The stove was so dirty that it smoked when turned on, nearly causing a fire. It was unusable. The downstairs level smelled musty, likely from too much moisture. The lake water was not suitable for swimming, and the provided paddle boat was broken and stranded my kids in the lake.During our second day at the property, the owner's adult grandchildren stayed down the lake and we could hear them cursing loudly and saw them trying to sink a boat with cinder blocks which would definitely cause injuries if someone jumped off the trampoline and swam into it.I wish I had stayed home and saved 1,000.
We enjoyed our stay at this spacious cabin overlooking a peaceful pond. While the water isn’t swimmable, it was still lovely to look at from the large deck, which was one of the highlights of the property. The hot tub was a nice touch, and the air conditioning worked well, keeping the home comfortable during our stay.
The layout features one bedroom and bathroom on the upper level, with additional bedrooms downstairs. Be aware that this cabin is not handicap accessible. It has a metal spiral staircase connecting the main level to the basement, which can be difficult to navigate—especially for anyone with mobility issues, elderly guests, or those with balance concerns. The stairs can feel a bit tricky, even for people who are generally steady on their feet.
The cabin was clean, and communication with the hosts was excellent throughout our stay. The furniture is a bit worn and not ideal for lounging for long periods, but given the size of the cabin and the affordable price, it was still a good value overall.
Parking is straightforward, but you do need to walk down a set of stairs that have some give when stepped on, so keep that in mind when carrying luggage or supplies in and out.
Overall, a nice getaway spot for those who don’t require accessibility features and are looking for a peaceful place to relax by the pond.

Beautiful property. Just a few minutes off the interstate. Very peaceful setting. Neighboring cabins were not an issue with noise or disruptive behavior. Overall, it was a good vacation. The cabin was clean, the kitchen had what we needed. One minor item was the condition/quality of the sleeper sofas. They were old, and wouldn't be comfortable for adults/teenagers. Fortunately for us, we only needed them for two younger children.

Birch Lake Cabin
Enjoyed our stay at "The Haven" cabin. Grandkids enjoyed paddle boat and row boat on the lake. Did not swim in the lake as it seems more suitable to a fishing lake, rather than swimming.

Quiet Rustic Cabin
The cabin was exactly what we were looking for, for a quiet out of town weekend. Located close enough to Tomah for groceries and essentials but far enough in the country for a quiet stay. The cabin is nice but definitely rustic. Fairly clean minus a few small things but for five guys in their mid 20s it was more than clean enough. The basement can be a bit chilly at night, even with the door closed at the top of the stairs, and there are a few screws on the deck that could be used to be driven in a bit deeper but that is just being nit picky. No wifi was a bit disappointing but understandable after reading the posted information in the kitchen. All things considered it’s a great property for a weekend escape out to the country. I would definitely rent again.

Great property, flawed check in
Very beautiful property, good amenities and nice location. However, when we arrived another group was already in out property and the owner was unreachable for the evening. They had mistakenly gone to the wrong cabin and not realized due to the lack of a check-in process. We had to ask them to leave and clean up the mess they left behind. Additionally, both pullout couches had mouse/rat dropping in them. The owner responded the following day, just said they would leave the other group a bad review. Otherwise beautiful property.

Lovely Retreat!
We are a five woman pool team, and this house gives us plenty of room to spread out, relax, play games, and we love th hot tub location in this cabin as opposed to the others. Any noise does not affect the others that may be sleeping. Two TV's is a plus and plenty of linens. Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful cabin!
