The staff was great, but the room had a strange smell to it and there was mold on the ceiling of the shower. Then, my daughter closed the bathroom door and could not open the door. The front desk tried to help, but could not get anyone from maintenance to help (it was a Saturday night), so we ended up kicking in the door to get her out, which destroyed the door. If we would have had a simple allen wrench, we could have slid it under the door and she could have removed the door handle, but the only one the front desk could find had a screwdriver handle on it and it wouldn't fit under the door. I felt sorry for the hotel that they would have to replace the door before they could rent out the room again, but they should supply some allen wrenches if this ever happens again.
Also, the free hotel breakfast could use some food that would suit people who don't drink dairy or eat eggs and meat. One day, we had just toast and peanut butter. The second day, at least they had some dry potatoes. Every day, they should have at least a potato-vegetable dish without butter or cheese and some non-dairy milk. This is not untypical for places we stay, but it would be nice if they recognized that not everybody eats meat, eggs, and dairy. Either that or give me $15 off my bill so we can eat breakfast somewhere else, which is what we did the first morning.
This hotel was around $200 a night and didn't have a hot tub, so it was definitely not worth it and we won't stay here again.
