1.0 Disappointing and eerie

We booked this accommodation for 2 nights but left after staying only one night. The advertisement for the room indicated an in-room kitchenette (refrigerator, microwave, etc) but there was none of those in the room. Instead, just one of each was situated in an unsecured common area shared by 8 rooms. The room itself was clean, but the shower recess was very cramped - we are both quite slim, so we managed ok, but I greatly doubt a large person would be able to shower comfortably in that space. The overall feel of the place was like a serviced dormitory arrangement, but that's not what we paid for. Furthermore, when we arrived the place was deserted. We never saw the manager, I just received an email from him saying the room was unlocked and we should just let ourselves in. Everything else, like the manager's office and bar/restaurant, was unlit and locked. The building is somewhat isolated - it is a few miles from the nearest town and we felt like we were the only people staying there. It felt spooky and unsettling. But even disregarding the weirdness factor, we felt that it was significantly over-priced for what was on offer. It was a bad experience. Won't ever go back.
