Upon arriving we were hesitant that we’d found the right address. The absolute beauty of the location had not been given its due justice from the online photos. The new owners have done so much to revitalize the rooms, overall property and gardens. The panoramic view was epic.
The scenic view of the costal shoreline at La Casa were absolutely stunning.Hidden away from the public eye its beauty surrounded with well manicured gardens with lush foliage.Set above sea level this tranquil serene yet peaceful private lodge is highly maintained.Partically surrounded in native bush with echoing harmonic sound of native birds as they frolic near and far.My grandson and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves wishing we had more time to stay longer. We were gracefully welcomed finding comfort with guidance in the hospitality sector and would recommend La Casa Te Puru be your next accommodation adventure.
Our room had excellent views of the Bay, the garden was beautiful and quiet. Our room had no bug screen but a can of mosquito spray was provided. Regardless, we ended up with lots of mosquito bites, which really ruined our stay. If staying there, ask the owner for a room with bug screen.
Beautiful grounds, worth a stroll. Challenging driveway. My check engine light came on so I am losing a day at the mechanic. It is very steep, your car will probably be fine, mine is very old. Twin room has one window which is at the entrance of another room so choose between privacy and natural light. Had issues with mosquitos, light switch near only one bed which doesn't have a nightstand. Overall beautiful property with a challenging room (twin), the other rooms seem better.
Great stay with a view but 15 minute drive to nearest restaurant.
Host christine very friendly.

The view was lovely as was the setting other than that there is little to recommend this place. Access would be very difficult for many as the drive was phenominally steep and would make walking out impossible for most. The room was small as was the bathroom tucked away at the back of the bedroom, adequate for a one night stop but not a lengthy stay. Check in was not welcoming (at 5pm which was hardly late) infact it was most off putting as we had to ring the front door bell and wait a while to be be greeted with "Oh I'd forgotton you were coming. You are the ones who booked on line'
We were.neither informed of a breakfast nor dinner option at La Casa for our two night stay and when we enquired where we could eat we were told eating options were a 10 km drive away into Thames with no recommendations. We did actually find breakfast the next morning at a wonderful cafe 2km away. Waikamu Beach Cafe. This was our first time in the Coramandel peninsula and Im sure we will return but not to La Casa Im afraid.
Magnificent views of the coast. Beautifully kept grounds with lovely flowers. Room
Looked right out to the sea _ lovely. Spanish design cool.
