The São Paulo Boutique Hotel is well located in the centre of charming Tavira. It's a small hotel in a historic building with comfortable updated rooms, a good breakfast served either al fresco or in a living room overlooking a small square (depending on the weather). The staff are helpful and kind.

A MUST stay

This charming boutique hotel is an absolute gem and comes with my highest recommendation. The room was not only lovely but beautifully decorated, so cozy and serene! The staff went above and beyond—exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with any request. The morning breakfast was amazing, offering a delicious variety of fresh, high-quality options in a quaint, welcoming atmosphere. The hotel’s location couldn’t be better; it’s perfectly situated within walking distance to fantastic restaurants, unique shops, and, of course, the scenic river walk. Additionally, it offers easy access to public transport, including bus, train, and ferry stations, making both local and long-distance travel a breeze. A true standout in every way!

This small hotel was definitely a highlight of our trip. The room was spacious and well cared for and the terrace was tranquil and a great place to relax. The breakfast spread and the very helpful staff were top notch and would bring us back in the future!

Highly recommended

This is a wonderful property with just five rooms and a delightful courtyard where an excellent breakfast was served. The 18th century house, in the centre of Tavira and a short walk to the river has been restored and modernised but it retains all its original charm. Highly recommended.

This property is a B&B, has no business calling itself a “boutique hotel”. We checked into a quaint basic room, wherein the owner set himself up at a desk less than 5m outside our door. It felt like we were in our parents’ home & felt super uncomfortable speaking above a whisper. A romantic getaway without kids, was our hope, instead had odd people sitting 10m from our bed, able to hear everything. We checked out & went to an actual hotel. We were charged in full for both nights we booked there although it was NOT as advertised. Do not recommend unless you like B&Bs with no privacy. The doors were super low & my guy is 6’3”, expected multiple concussions had we remained.

Wonderful and unique. Very comfortable older home converted to a 5 suite hotel. Rooms are spacious. Decorated in an an eclectic art style. Buffet presentation was amazing. Easy walking distance to the centre of Tavira. The people are extremely helpful.

A small number of rooms meant that it felt quite intimate and comfortable, plus the staff were fabulously friendly. We did feel a little guilty with the big rain shower heads, given what we learned about the region’s ongoing drought, but that’s probably being a little picky.

Favorite Boutique Hotel EVER!

We can't recommend this hotel highly enough. It is beautifully decorated with original printed art and antique furniture and textiles, as well contemporary furniture. The breakfast food and setting was exemplary, and Susanna, the day manager, was as nurturing as a loving mother. Tavira and its coastline was Oh so pretty. We would return there in a heartbeat.

Lovely hotel in fantastic location

Cute, beautifully designed (with great attention to detail) 5 room hotel (converted house) in fantastic location in the heart of Tavira. The service was wonderful and the staff lovely. Thanks to Susana for being an exceptional host. The property was very clean and well-maintained. Breakfast was good, fresh with a number of options including good coffee and orange juice, and the staff in the restaurant downstairs were lovely. The bed was comfortable and there was a good selection of tv channels. Low ceiling in parts of the pateo suite might bother tall people. Ask if you have trouble operating the hot water. Nice view from Juliet balcony. Plunge pool was refreshing. Courtyard is fairly sheltered from wind. Pateo suite overlooking pool had plenty of sunlight during the day. There are lots of restaurants around the hotel, could smell lovely food from room. Area is great for walking. Shopping center is about 20 min walk. Ferry and castle are about 10 min walk.
