Accommodation In Tathra

Stay in our Tathra accommodation and visit this small coastal township which is set around an historic steamer wharf. The wharf was restored by the National Trust and is the only remaining sea wharf on the East Coast. This historic icon houses a museum in an old cargo shed and is a favourite for local fisherman.

Tathra beach which is patrolled in summer and is great place for surfing, board riding or sail boarding. Fishing enthusiasts can fish for salmon or tailor from the beach or launch a boat and fish for flathead upstream. Tathra is also good for prawning from November to May. While staying in our Tathra accommodation, visit Mogareeka Inlet which is located at the northern end of Tathra Beach, where the Bega River meets the sea. This is a great place for families with safe swimming for children and a boat ramp for easy access to the sea.

This beautiful coastal town boasts a range of accommodation and is surrounded by national parks. To the north are the visual delights of Mimosa Rocks National Park, where years of crashing waves have created intricate sea caves which are surrounded by towering rocks stacks left by ancient lava flows. Heading south will take you to Bournda National Park, boasting stunning and isolated beaches, vast lakes and jagged cliffs.

Keen photographers will benefit from a trip to the national parks or the old sea wharf. Nature lovers can search for fossils at Kianinny Bay, visit the Tathra Forest Wildlife Reserve or see the fairy penguins and seals that frequent Tathra Wharf. For the more adventurous, water sports are offered on Lake Wallagoot and for those with a passion for sea a visit to the Tathra Maritime Museum is a must.
