We've stayed at this hotel a few times before it changed to a Hyatt Regency. Unfortunately, the rebranding seems to have deteriorated the overall experience. The lobby is cavernous and void of furniture. Dining options are expensive and subpar, especially dinner. The bar restaurant is small for the size of the property and was overrun the evening we stayed forcing us to eat lukewarm food at the buffet. They also need new beds and bedding as they are not what you would expect from Hyatt. We won't be returning.

Walk a few feet from the hotel and you can jump on the train to Taipei City! Buy ticketsand have a $50 or less as machines dont take big bills. We had a 10 hour layoverso we wanted to see the downtown and old city. Its about 35 minutes to get there on the train. There is an express train which is the one we took. Wefound a benihana style locals place that was excellent and airconditioned.No issues with train. The hotel will store your luggage.

The rooms were smaller than what I would normally expect. There was no gift store or convenience store in the hotel. Parking was extremely easy and convenient. Otherwise, pretty standard/average for Hyatt. Oh- this is one of the few places we stayed in Taiwan where the staff spoke English well. I would expect that for Hyatt, but it is an exception in Taiwan. Also, the dinner buffet was really remarkable, even when compared to what is expected of a 5-star hotel. This is probably the best hotel buffet I've ever seen.
